I think there so many "the voice"s. Here are a couple that when you hear them(to me)just stand out above other male singers:

Michael McDonald

Geddy Lee

Stephen Pearcy

Sammy Hagar

Sting

David Coverdale

Lou Gramm

Layne Staley

Klaus Meine

Speaking of Robert Hart I really liked him on Stories Told & Untold - nice timbre and some really good vocal skills.
I would add a few great voices to Angie's list.Singers that are instantly recognizable every time they open their mouths..They have a huge vocal personality.

Don Henley
John Farnham
Geoff Tate
Ronnie James Dio
Steven Tyler
Bono

There is a fine line between distingishable and "best" IMO Some of those on that list should never be there.

Yeah, Dylan falls under that. So does Aaron Neville and Joe Cocker.

Ah,I am sure we could find a crowd that could swear Dylan is the best singer that ever walked this Earth.
Same with Cocker and others on that list.I have no idea who decided for those 100 voices to be there, but it’s all clear that only a few fall in the "distinctive" category.

Cocker singing, is as about as good as me taking a dump. He is awful. Dylan too. I never did get why Bruce idolizes him so much; maybe the songwriting abilities? Anyway, that list is so fake. I remember on BT, someone brought the list over and BAM! Instantly there were 500 people swarming that site, voting for Perry and Augeri! Too funny. The owner knew what was up, and blew BT'ers off.

Reminds me ...a couple of years ago Leonard Cohen won singer of the year in some poll or other. When he won and received his trophy,he said,'You must be joking',with a big grin on his face.
Now there is a non-singers singer.Right up there with Dyllie.

Hey there gr8dane Lenord Cohen tops my list of
worst singers ever followed by Dylan and Cocker.
I respect the work they have done and can say nothing
of their song writting abilities but my ears hurt when I hear
them sing.....err talk to words.

Would be nice if I would use the preview
tab and avoid having to edit.
Someday I'll learn the easier side of life.
