Would I rather hear a really awesome show that was being lipped to, or a horrible vocal show that was live? 2. Would I buy a ticket if I knew that the lead singer was not gonna be singing live but would be lip syncing? (even if he recorded it live in the studio) 3. Would I feel that I was ripped off if after seeing a show I found out that it wasn't live? 4. Even if this is the norm today in the music industry do I feel that as a fan I am being cheated?

I don't know if Journey is doing this or not, I really can't be bothered listening to the boots that are out there. I have been to 4 or 5 Journey shows in the past 4 years, and other than feeling like I saw the same show over and over again (cause they hardly changed the setlist up at all)
I had a really great time at all the shows I went to, and feel that I got my moneys worth. I don't think that we will ever know the truth because no matter what Management says there will still be those people that won't believe it either way, and there will still be rumours going around. At the end of the day this has made me really sad, because now every concert that I go to I am gonna wonder if it's really live. For me it's kinda like finding out there is no Santa.

I like this post!

I doesn't really matter if the thread is open at BT..Its just a way for the fans to vent. Nothing more ,nothing less. The band has been disconnected from that site for a long time. BT is only a place to sell concert tics and swag.

I just don't like the idea of deception and them possibly thinking that the poor, stupid fans out there couldn't tell the difference in what they are doing if their lives depended on it. They must think the general audience has a tin ear, had too much beer, or is not sophistocated enough to put 2 + 2 together. There have been too many questions over the last couple years. They totally disappeared from their own website, Deen sings more and more songs (is HE live?), the Generations CD being thrown together without them spending alot of time together working on it, all band members singing on Generations, reports of lip synching back as far as 2003 and those "live" DVD's they promised never got released. Something is up.

Why don't they ever come in and make a post to the fans? It's nice to hear from the band you go see year after year, isn't it? I know we're all tired of greatest hits by now, so a little crumb from them on their own website isn't too much to ask, is it?

Because they don't have to. It's as simple as that.

Where is everybody?

I got word it was supposed to be like Baghdad in here today.

I think you folks are about to get your forum back. Enjoy.

As I stated in my post on the "My Worthless Opinion" thread, I have already received an e-mail warning from a former moderator on the back talk forums for criticizing Journey for trying to make more money of of their fans by releasing multiple versions of the same CD with different bonus tracks since they know that most diehard fans will pay to get all the different songs.

I have already stated to some other Journey fans that I feel that at times the Back Talk forums are kind of Nazi-like in what you are and are-not allowed to say about the band. I do not feel that it is the moderators themselves who are that strict about what can be said, but that it is likely the bands management that makes sure that very few negative things can be said about the band.

But with every fiber of my being I can state that it is extremely clear that some of the people who are involved in this whole story about the band lip syncing are doing so out of a hatred for either Journey, Steve Augeri, Journey's management, Journeymusic.com or Journey fans!!!

You can not seriously claim that you are a fan of Journey and yet continue endlessly day after day to do your best to "bring down the band!"

I too have grown sick of the "love fest" threads on the Back Talk forums, and I would rather focus on the music than to just state how great of guys I think the members of Journey are.

If anyone wants to claim that I am a blind follower of the band and that I am sticking my head in the sand then you can just shove it up your ass!!!

No-one is as tough on my favorite bands or sports teams as I am, and I will criticize them when I feel that it is deserved!

But again it is extremely obvious that some of you who are spreading this rumor are doing so out of a hatred for someone or something in or about Journey, and because you think of yourselves as being James Bond or something!

I'm still not guarenteeing that they haven't used some taped vocals in concert, I really can't say for certain?

But I can tell you that I have been to many Journey concerts in the last few years and that I have never once seen or heard anything to suggest that they have ever used pre-recorded vocals in concert. Quite the opposite in fact!

I have a friend who is a singer with a great deel of similarity to singers like Steve Perry, Geddy Lee and Rik Emmit. This friend of mine has been to a Journey concert with me within the last year or so and he would look over at me with a cringed face whenever Steve Augeri would hit a really bad note. Trust me, if Journey were going to use pre-recorded tapes of Steve Augeri in concert they definitely would NOT have used something that was so obviously bad sounding as some of those bad notes that he had hit in those shows!!! Steve Augeri still sounds great overall at the shows, but there are too many obvious bad notes in each show for it to be likely to be pre-recorded vocals!

Please read my comments in the "My Worthless Opinion" thread if you have not done so already! I stand by everything that I said there about peoples motives on this subject, and about how any sound engineer who would "rat out a band" should be viewed.

Simple, they despise that forum...The band has blurred that line with the fans. IE, letting them get to close and personal. It has caused a lot of problems and continues to do so. They are not professional in that manner.

Well, that's simply not true. Having bonus tracks for imports is standard in the industry...It is REQUIRED to get the foriegn release. It is more for encouraging people in Japan to buy the Japan copy (which is more expensive the the US copy) then to encourage US fans to buy the Japan copy. I'm sure you have been told that many times and simply don't believe it...but it doesn't make it any less true.

Why ridicule CJ for offering an alternative forum for additional information. It could have merely been disregarded. Instead, it was disclosed as an option. The band members (Schon) expressed that too much emphasis and time is devoted (forum members) towards “trivial” posts. No Santa, c’mon. Now you’ll tell me there is no Easter Bunny.

You pricks and your "Krispy Kreams." I saw some on the counter at the store and had to see what all the fuss was about.

Which? The pricks or the Krispy Kremes?

So where are Noble Cause and Yak these days??

Why do you care? Need somebody to spar with? If I/he told you once, I/he told you a hundred times, Bobbi, we're two different people.....

Should have been gone
Knowing how I made you feel
but ya should have been gooone
After all your words of steel
But I must have been a dreamer (instead of a reamer)
And I must have been someone else (got that right)
And we should have been over (but along came stevie)

Oh Perry (faithful)
