Which is why I started coming over here. As I've said before...it feels like an Actuall CONVERSATION here instead of an orgy for the band. EESH. lol.

LOLOL Angie ! That got me laughing!

I also noticed that he totally ignored my comments about why there isn't any threads giving the band constructive criticism. If any band worth their salt would want to hear what the fans are really thinking, the good and the bad.

Because he had no answer!! They don't know how to ask or answer tough questions. There is no debate team at that school, just the cheerleading squad and glee club!

They can ONLY state their opinion and run before proven wrong. They have no shell so they're veunerable to attacks. BACK TO THE SAFE ORGY AT BT.

Excuse my spelling. lol.

So someone explain to me how BT being a board ful off "teenagers" or "bored housewives" is any better then a board full of tantrum throwing 5 year olds? Anytime anyone comes over here disagreeing with the "cult" found on this site they are mocked and ridiculed. Is that how you think every site should be? Yes some on BT really love to gush over the band, that is their right. If someone doesnt want to do that or doesnt want to read it they can go elsewhere. My parents always told me that you can't change anyone but yourself. No one forces ANY of you to even read BT. If it bugs you so much, just don't go there.

Here is what johnroxx had to say about MR........

Well, I registered over at MR just to counter a lame generalization made about us as a whole, and got spewed upon. Three posts and I am done there, lol.
What a pit that place is...

;^)

Now everyone, did we spew on him? And why do I still see him here at times?

I, for one, am not a 5 year old. I don't do ridicule unless someone else does it first. I think out my posts, then post them. What I see, and this is what I have an issue about, is that there isn't any constructive criticism threads. Why isn't it allowed?

I will stand by what I had said earlier. If any band is worth their salt, they would really want to know how their fans really think, the good and the bad.

They generalize us just like we do them. To us everybody over there's nothing but a cheerleader and to them we're all crazed fans who are really enemies of the band. Sad.

I can understand and may even support constructive criticism being allowed, but there is a very fine line between that and degrading and rude remarks. When does someone go to far? Who gets to be the one deciding what stays and what goes. It seems as though (now mind you I have no idea who made up the current BT rules and why they chose the rules they did) the current rules are very straight forward and easy to monitor and enforce. If they were to allow more open comments people would just bitch more then they already do when something was closed or deleted because it would be more up to the disgression of the mod. However, it is the bands site and ultimately it is their call as to what is appropriate on the site.

He said, she said, what else is new. You can't start a new thread anymore because once you try and change the topic - it gets hijacked.

I just don't see where there is anything more to discuss about the topic until and if Journey (band, management, official crew, lawyers, etc) make a statement or give us their 2 cents worth. What's done is done.

Poor dead horse could not be any more dead.

And so the bands call is to have only "feely good" threads ? My, my, I guess the band can't handle constructive criticism.

And as for the degrading and rude remarks, the posters themselves have control over that. They can, if they want to, agree to disagree.

BT, as I see it now, and this is just my opinion, is extremely unbalanced. You have to have the good with the bad, you know what I mean?

I agree with you 100% that they can agree to disagree...the problem is that not everyone has the capability to do so for whatever reason. Some of the things people argue about never cease to amaze me. There are many more important things in the world to fight about.

What I appreciate about you is (hmmm I don't know how to double quote here) when you said "....and this is just my opinion" We all have the rights to those opinions and how we handle them.

Because it's JOURNEY's forum and it would be nice if it was run in a way which ENCOURAGED all types of discussion, instead of encouraging only under certain conditions, and discouraging everything ELSE...and making the lines between the two very blurry. THAT is the problem with BT, IMO.

This forum isn't perfect either. But, you have to take the good with the bad. It's up to each person to decide what they can accept and what they can't. A forum is NEVER going to be appealing to EVERYBODY.

I certainly DON"T go there for the very reasons this thread is about. Mr. Johnny come lately is the one who stepped in here whining about unfairness.

The difference? We stay here and don't bother them.

I think some of you just need to kind of take both forums for what they are... if you're feeling generally good about the band, go to BT to say it. If you want to criticize them, come on over here.

Some of you are probably familiar with the 10000000 Perry forums out there... and if you went to steveperryfans.com and said you were unhappy with the Houston DVD and Perry should have done this and that instead, they'd likely kill it because they're very much about staying "positive" and "respectful". But if you said that on Perryville, they would probably let you say it because they allow criticism.

Use the aspects of different forums to your advantage. You can have more than one hangout, you know.

Hey, that's cool. Then don't complain about ones you don't even go to! :) I was just referring to the people who seem to want to be a part of Journey's official site but hate the attitude there.
