Why not just replace Augeri?

Because you can't replace perfection, perfection overshadows all..even it's predecessors and perfection overfills shoes too...you simply can't replace perfection...esp for no cause.

Because they'd already had to replace Steve Perry once, and I think average fans (the majority of Journey concert-goers) have accepted Augeri since he's been there for 7 or 8 years now. Perry's gone, but this guy sounds exactly like him...having to suddenly sell someone else who also isn't Steve Perry after everyone's finally gotten used to Augeri might seriously hurt their concert business unless they found yet another singer who sounded just like him.

Musically it makes all the sense in the world...just get another singer. There's at least a few people who might be decent candidates for Journey's style, but it won't sound like old Journey unless the guy is a dead ringer for Perry. The fans who actually bought Generations and Arrival would probably accept a different sounding singer, since the core songwriters and musicians are still there, but they wouldn't be able to go out and play "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'" the same way to the average masses. And this is about money, not musical development, so Augeri stays, for now.

There will be some curious eyes watching and listening on Friday, that's for sure.

Actually your dead wrong about that!

Steve Augeri rightfully has tons of supporters as he is both a great singer and seems like a classy guy!

And by the way, I am a bigger fan of an in his prime Steve Perry.

You see I think that in many ways a lot of this trouble is being caused by Perry worshipers who just can't stand the idea that Journey would dare go on without Steve Perry. :shock:

I would much rather have Journey with Steve Augeri than no Journey at all, and trust me if Perry came back it wouldn't last.

There is no way you can replace someone like Steve Augeri.
He has brought more talent, integrity and humility to this band.
He has so many supporters because of that and because of who he is.,

I don;t see any proof either.,
all I see is several different shows from several points on the tour with
totally different versions of the same songs,.
I also see a witchhunt against Steve Augeri who has done nothing to
deserve this except try to help the band continue.

Steve Augeri has stepped up to the challenge of being the lead singer
tremendously well. I really don;t care about what happened or
was posted or whathave you from last year.
I support him and believe in him and don;t believe or see any
validity to these claims.
after being at several shows over the past few years
I have never witnessed anything funny or
any tricks.
I donl;t need to think it over I can see and hear with
