Anyone Seen "Thunder & Lightning" DVD?

Postby Rich D » Sat Feb 04, 2006 9:58 pm

Hey gang

I'm new to the board, so was very chuffed to see the Lizzy section cos I'm a huge fan :D

Has anyone seen the new DVD from the "T&L" tour?

I really enjoyed it - band seem really fired up, and it's cool to see that particular line-up get stuck into the classics (Darren Wharton & John Sykes era)

Also nice to hear "T&L" tunes live.

Nice montage of tribute quotes to Phil as an intro.

Anyone else checked it out?

Cheers!

I'm new here, so forgive the tardiness of this reply.
I have not seen the DVD, but if you're interested, Snowy White appears on the "Roger Waters-Live In The Flesh".

Who's selling this DVD? I just looked at CDUniverse and they don't have it, and they usually have everything.

Darren Wharton the mastermind genius? lol
Man he is the most awesome talented man going....
I had the pleasure of meeting him in England at the concerts My Darren and I attended, we we're invited back to 2 more of the shows as guests woooohoooo what a moment for us....even drank some beers with him, the dude is awesome!
My Darren has introduced me to much more of Thin Lizzy than I've known from the past, and I love Phil, I think one of the songs that is a really fun finger snapping song is "Dancing in the Moonlight" but so many others are catchy, of course "The Boys Are Back In Town" is an ultimate fav, but I'm so glad I'm getting into more of Thin Lizzy now as I didn't know how great they were.

I've seen a couple mentions of this DVD but I can't find it either. Anyone know anything?

Well I've heard a couple people post about this DVD and they say the sound is pretty bad. It was available from a company out of Minneapolis MN on E-bay for $30 but I don't see it listed now.

VH1 has had the BBC Live 1/26/83 show at the Regal Theater (also released/known as Rock Masters) playing for the last two months. It's on this Saturday 2/24 at 2pm EDST if you want to record it. It's John Syke's 1st live show with the band. Absoliutely great sound. My wife (who grew up in the pop 80's culture even said how nice that sounded coming from just the TV speakers. When I turned on the surround sound it exploded. I made a copy on disc but it lost a little. GREAT SHOW though.

This is the one
Cold Sweat
Sun goes down
Holy War
Boys are back
Rosallee
Baby please don't go

I'm prestty sure BBC did a lot of editing as the original set list was different for this show from the Rock Master disc.

Phil looks pretty bad on it......like he was doing the 'sugar' backstage a bit TOO much.

In fact, he looks pretty wrecked on it

Apart from that, the songs aint half bad.

I bought if from the UK off of Ebay months ago (a PAL version).

It's not bad... some shots are distant.
