Is anyone at tonights show?

Postby KittyKat » Sat Jun 24, 2006 10:42 am

Journey's set should be about done now so I was hoping someone would post to let us know how it's going. Gonna take at least 30 mins. to set up DL's stage. I saw some people here post that they would be at this show tonight, the suspense is killing me.

DBoy's version of Svat is probably there. Can't wait to "hear" that report.

Red 13 is there. I can write his review foir him

Augeri was on fire, spot on! There is NO way he lipped! Great show!

Not to worry, I know someone who is taping it. I will know later tonight.

The rumor was they were going live last week, and Augeri was not happy with tht. They have since decided to keep fooling us I believe.

Thats way over my head DBoy. Stevie's fine.

Maybe that spaceship will come back tonight, and the aliens will reverse whatever damage they did last time. Let us know when you get paroled.
Dang all those counts of copyright infringement are going to be hell to pay. You did good on your last set of fines. Everything is up to date, thats cool for you, and the DMV loves your ass, but $150,000 per infringement is gonna rough.

You have a grudge against JRNY. Just think, once you pay off the RIAA, SONY, and Sanctuary, you'll be working to pay off your boy Perry, and the rest of the royalties infringements the band has coming.

It's gonna suck to be you.

I hear Mexico's nice this time of the year and there's plenty of room, seeing as how most of their citizens are coming here in droves.

Loyalty is not SP's greatest asset. He'll be standing with hand extended to DBoy as soon as the law says he can. He wants his money, and Dboy won't have a choice but to pay up. I would love a copy of that first check made out to Steven Perry by one of his biggest, brightest (woops) fans.

True, but I'm sure border patrol has already been alerted to be on the look out for him...suspect should be easy to spot...he will be running rampant with Journey bootlegs under each arm cursing everyone in sight.

Geez...stealing the boots off of Journey's legs? Interesting how someone can get their hands on bootlegs so quickly.....

OK the show is over so I can move forward. The Opening song for JRNY tonight is Faith in the Heartland. The conspiracy theorists can rest easy knowing that the opening intro track from the DVD is not a part of the show. Try synching some of this music.

OK the first thought is gonna be why did they change the setlist? Ok I've said it before; This crapola, especially DBoy is nothing more than a bug on the windshield to any member of the band or the Azoff organaization. The dirty dozen set list in the UK was a must, for JRNY had not been over the pond in decades.

From a very respectable fan, with no axe to grind or sharpen. (her husband works his ass off so she could care less)

"Q" Do you think any portion of tonights show was not live music"?

"A" Absolutely no freaking way. there were a technical glitch here and there early, but I was right on the barricade, the sound was good, and the band kicked ass. It probably wasn't their best show, but no doubt it was far from their worst.

Now you all know I could sugar coat this any way I choose. Thats the report I just got from a fan who lives in New York, plus one fan who I was surprised to hear on the line from the UK was very pleased he made the trip. Need I say more?

It's all relative, and the truth will set you set you free.

Cool! That's easily my favorite track from "Generations". I'm glad to hear that they're doing at least one new track and hopefully more.

Just one more in 80 minutes bud. You know how the Master is on a time clock. They have to allow for him getting so pumped he decides to play "In A Godda Divida" on the strings. It's all good though.

I was there and "Faith" was the openner.

Dean sang 3 songs at least.

Steve was protected, but it was more live than most recent shows by far. The crowd did love JRNY

Def Leppard stunk. I hate everything except their 1st 3 albums, but that is just me.

Augeri sang enough live that the boots will not jive with what has been put out there. Doesn't mean Deano was wrong. (He was right) However, IMO they were more live tonight than in any other recent show. High notes avoided, but if you get a boot, they covered things properly.

And if it had been totally faked - NO ONE WOULD HAVE CARED.....

Just my opinion. Deano has some accurate comments, however, it is not a major story. Just me talking. Good show.

Last say on this. Deano was correct. Probably still is to an extent. However, the general public doesn't care much about JRNY, REO or Styx.....

that is true!

Also true, I HATE what I think has gone down recently.

I also think that Steve Augeri has saved this band for the last 10 years.

Lastly, Steve Perry is 56 years old and you yentas that think he could sing these songs anymore are F'n crazy.

More later.

Pit, I know more than you do.

Sorry, but I do.

Without going any farther. JRNY was more live tonight than they have been in awhile. Deen sang 3 songs (great move). Steve A was "enhanced" instead of being totally faked.

JRNY went over better to a huge crowd than Def Leppard did.

I am a huge S.A. fan and know what I am talking about.

AGREED! Steve P was smart. Great singer and stop it before it isn't right.

IMO Steve A. did a fantastic job on the early material and did some nice new stuff as well.

Like Perry, but appreciated Augeri's input the last 10 years. Nice to see him attempt some vocals tonight. He has been a great soldier and deserves Schon and Cain's respect

Deano, I argued with you but you were correct.

The reason I did was that I could not believe it.

It was nice to here Augeri's voice again for once. At least half the time. He was ok.

No "Open Arms" tonight and that was a huge question from the crowd.

I did not care.

Were you there? I knew they would go more live, but I know not totally live. See, this is all I wanted. So I have already made a difference. I am proud of that. However, we all with brains know if Augeri was live, there are some stinky moments in there. Not a flame, but rather a pure fact. he can no longer sing.

I have already heard 5 songs and they are all lippers, if you will. Waiting for more.

See, If he sings live, it will not sound good...Not a harsh statement, just unfortunate truth. If Augeri ever sounds good, you know it's Lipped.

And please don't read those obnoxious reviews at BT.. Any fool knows that Augeri is the best if you read that site. that site has ZERO credibility, ZERO.

Arrivalrules, did DL stink or do you just not like their music? Just asking because there's a difference. I just read another fans review on BT and it said Steve got DL fans to stand after 45 mins. into the set, DL fans were supportive of Journey and 90% of the crowd were into both bands.

I was THERE!

I could tell that they went live as much as they could. The boots will prove it IMO. Not completely and they covered the high notes and Deen did 3 tunes. However Augeri did decent when asked to. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I was really watching/listening. I think they did that so recordings will not match. They did use tape though, jsut not as much.

KittyKat, I like DL, but they played too many cover songs (I know about the "Yeah" album)

I will admit that I like "On Through The Night" High & Dry" and "Pyromania" and not a big fan of the rest. My report had nothing to do with my thoughts and only what I heard. Take it for what it is worth.

Pit,

Your heart is in the right place for sure. However go ask Deano who jumped down his throat about it early on and viciously?

I am very educated on this and may have access (or not) to shows that you will never hear.

That's all I have to say other than opening night was cool. Not completely what it should have been, but much better than what I expected by a long shot!
