I see it's time for a girl to step in to remind you all that size doesn't matter...

Not sure whether one will show up though. ;)

I hope everyone is well today. Come to find out, the band had a gig and nobody told me. :? My bro told me that the gig wasn't gonna happen because we haven't been able to practice. So he went on to jam with another band that he is doing in his spare time. Ironically, the bassist, drummer, and first vocalist who's no longer in the band showed up for that gig, and as a last-minute on-the-fly moment, they all decided to jam out the new songs and see how it would turn out.

Apparently, even with the ex-singer and without their 'key'-ingredient (pun intended) the songs got positive response from the crowd. Hopefully our first full-gig will turn out that way.

Hi Thomasha! Is it alright if I come along next time? Al we need is music, sweet music... And a different song!

We spent the weekend at a festival in Germany. Had the most surreal experience watching Unleashed play a song called Winterland -under a blazing sun. Anyway, we saw a whole bunch of great bands, bought a lot of CDs and shirts and enjoyed delicious food. Next time we might even add another day to go out and see a bit more of the scenery. It is very beautiful down there.

Hi all,

It's been a long time since I last set foot in here...thought I might drop in for a quiet drink and share the news...

My new job in Shanghai is unbelievable...really loving it :-) The students are great and the fellow teaching staff are pretty cool...all in all, a pleasant place to work. My school is sending me off to Greece this weekend for some curriculum training in the International Baccalaureate and I am really looking forward to that (it does mean one weeks less holiday, but if someone wants to pay me to go to Greece, I'll go any time ;-) ). After I get back back from Greece, I will spend a couple of days in Shanghai before flying back home to Australia to introduce my parents to my fiance :-) Hopefully that goes well ;-)

When I get back from Australia it is off to Jining City in Shandong Province, China to get married...although we won't have our wedding until December....or February....or whenever the lunar calender says it is okay. We need to go to the marriage registration office where my fiance is a registered citizen which means a delightful 10 hour train journey from Shanghai on a heavily crowded train...going to Jining will be good though as I will then finally get to meet my fiance's parents as well (they don't speak any english and my chinese is woeful...communication should be fun!!). It will be still be summer when I am there and there will be no air conditioning....plus I have been told to wear long clothing as my arm hair is likely to offend   I'm not even that hairy...

Anyway...time to run...my school day is just about over and I want to go home

Take care everyone

Oh fuck, I bet he feels better now......anyway, never known him to rush ANYTHING, right Jonny??

Let me recount this 'conversation'

'I feel sick'
'Have some water'
'I feel really sick'
'Well have some water'!
'Oh God I don't feel well'
'Have some FUCKING WATER!!!!!!'''

Nah, never seen it. Rushing.

And ah, done worry mate, sometimes my parents don't speak english either - or they didn't after a dozen sherries and an 8 hour game of Canasta with my Auntie and Uncle......

But that was a long, long time ago......a long long long time ago.

The band project is officially 'over.' Our drummer basically fucked things up with a scheduled gig, and rather then train a new drummer, (and a new singer. She's been MIA for 2 months,) my bro decided to call it quits. He will finish the guitar tracks, give it a quick mix, and that's it. I don't even think he plans to sell it, only give it to close friends...when it's finished, I'll announce it here.

...oh well, it only took six years to figure out it wasn't gonna work. :(

On the plus side, musically speaking, my bro will be starting his own side project, and I will be starting mine as well. I think that seperate projects will be better in the long run. My bro and I conflicted too much between song ideas. Even if the band stayed together, the two of us would've probably split it anyway.

He just recently traded for an identical synthesizer with a working sequencer as the one he has, and I'm currently trying to convince him to sell it to me for the average eBay price. Also hoping to get a Roland of some kind as my 3rd synth.

Now I face a tougher challenge. Trying to create a newer sound with an inexperienced sound producer who's stuck in the 80's. (yes, I'm still talking about my bro.) He absolutely refuses to use any guitar that has more than 6 strings (or a bass with more than 4) nor does he have the right distortions to make the modern sound. Are there any guitar experts out there who can give me some advice? What guitars should I be looking for? What distortion am I going to use? (I'm looking for the modern distortion that the commercial goth bands are using. In particular, Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, etc. Maybe my bro has it on his box, but I don't know the technical term???)

Yeah - a six string guitar is perfectly alright.

No mate...it was 'Jonny' as in 'Maiden Man'. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi everybody!

I recently went to hospital and did a knee artroscopy, it was horrible but I'm feeling better now! And Snakey, the nurses were really good looking! it's funny, I was awake during surgery and watching the whole process on a TV screen. I remember being really drugged down and saying to one of the nurses: Do you wanna merry me? I don't know what went into my head but it was really funny. Even the surgeon had to laugh! It was a blast!
