Some people are having WAY too much fun with this situation

Postby cetera » Wed Jun 28, 2006 7:35 pm

Seems to me that some people on this forum are having WAY too much 'fun' with this whole 'is he/isn't he' situation. There seems to be a gratuitous 'circling for the kill' atmosphere round here and it is very disconcerting to see people letting it eat into their lives so much..... :?

I'm still not convinced either way..... piss-poor 'proof' (and I use the word lightly) is not enough to convince me it is true, but even if it were I certainly wouldn't be joining up with the 'Destroy Journey' brigade that seems to circle in this area.....

Really, maybe such energies should be put into more positive pursuits such as your families, careers, charity etc....?

Just a simple well-meaning thought... but I'm sure some bright spark will flame me for it...

Congrats! You win the 'bright spark' award....

I was simply saying that some people seem to be rubbing their hands with glee at the situation..... which doesn't seem to be a healthy state of mind....

People who are extremely one way or the other about it are the ones who are gleeful, no matter how much they claim they are not. It gives people with nothing going on in their lives something to do. Don't worry, karma's a bitch.

Whether they need to fess up or not.... I see your point. Smile if that works for you :)

No, it doesn't. But starting a new thread gives them another place to add fuel to the fire.

And thanks for the award.

Or, it highlights (better than being buried in the 13th page of a pointless thread) that maybe people need to take stock of what's really important.... :?

Sorry it was nothing against you. I just think this whole thing has gone way too far and the band should be putting a stop to it either way. The ones that started this won't give up until they get an answer.

Hey 2Late, I don't think they will be happy with whatever answer they get. Perhaps "Silence is Golden".

Just because people post, doesn't mean they rank those things higher than world peace or caring for their children. It's the people that post and ignore their kids or people that post and don't vote that may have a priority issue. But that's not for anyone on this board to decide. I suspect that several folks (mostly at BT) consider the forum their highest priority in life. But hey, we are all human and can all choose to make whatever we want a priority. So who are you to question it?

I really don't think that anyone needs to be reminded where this scandal fits in overall.

That being said, I bet it's feeling pretty vital to Journey these days.

I agree with you on that one Memorex. Message boards can be fun etc... but even if people do talk a lot on here it doesn't mean they do nothing else. I know I do a lot more than just fart about on the net, as much as I enjoy it, and I'm sure most other people are the same.

Obviously there will always be some people who are never away from their machines though.

Actually, it's because of the way people are reacting that I questioned peoples priorities at all.... it appears people DO need to be reminded that it isn't the end of the world whatever the truth. Anyway my point was (again.... ) that 'some' people seem to have an unhealthy vulture-like attitude to the whole situation..... gleefully picking over the pieces.

As for who I am to question it....Noone more important than you are to have your opinion.....

True, but why hang around on a message board arguing and attacking the band and each other?

If people want answers, get a petition going, send it to the band, management, tour promoter and the media. Do something productive. Media is more likely to listen to them if presented in professional manner. Which could in turn force the hand of the band.

If the people here really want answers, fight for it together instead of fighting each other.

Now how about that. An intelligent post. Just imagine taking time to be proactive and respectful and ask the band if what people thought were true instead of going to the internet and media automatically accusing them because you think its true.
