Postby nnttln » Thu Jun 29, 2006 4:00 am

Fine, retracted. I am very upset at the sensless loss of a good man and how he was treated here, all for going to bat for the band he loved! Not like Dean has done anything tastless on this board at all. He should think before he treats people so rudely and threatens others, his anger does affect people and this is one instance that was deadly. Life is too short for this nonsense. RIP CP!

Gone never to return to this den of cutthroats. Go ahead and bash now, God knows that is the MO in this place.

Andrew feel free to delete this thread.

That is a very unfair statement. Pit, rest his soul, gave it as good as he got. I hope that out of respect, no one posts anything more negative about him, and no one should be baited. If we can't stay above a certain moral line here, then God help us.

What a moron you are. I don't agree with everything Deano says but accusing someone of being responsible for someone else's death without evidence is reprehensible.

So it is ok that someone is dead?

Regardless of what you thought of the style in which he posted, Craig was a good man, a good person. He lived his life PASSIONATELY. His passions of photography and lithography showed him to be an artist. His defense of Journey, regardless of the tone, showed him to be passionate about the band he loved.

As Penny said, for just ONE day please show some respect and pause to think about how short life really is and what REALLY matters.

This is such a ridiculous statement; it makes me wonder if it is true.

If so, I think we can show respect for a man that has died, without making such ridiculous accusations. No one can kill you with words. It's possible to let yourself get so upset by words that you kill yourself by stress, but not letting something get to you so much is your responsibility.

If this is true, my condolences to the Pitman family.

It is unfortuately very true.

I feel fortunate that I was able to get to know Craig outside of the forums here and at BT. In real life he was nothing like what you saw. He was a big lovable teddy bear kind of guy who would give his last dime to someone in need.

I am saddened to hear of Craig's passing.

This comment by RVR could very well be applied to both sides, I hate that there are sides, but nonetheless there are. To hear of a sudden death truly puts things into perspective.

This isn't Deano's or anyone elses fault. Instead, Craig may have had heart disease or another ailment. Craig was a fighter for Journey. So isn't Deano and many others here.

Let's just wish Craig the best in the afterlife.

The originator of this post should delete it.

You are so out of line with this statement. I can not not believe you would actually say such an insensitive thing at a time people are mourning the loss of a friend or ever. You have an awful lot of misgiuded anger  .

exactly my point, This was posted more to get a fight going than to pay respects to a "friend". Completely and unashamedly.

Craig was not know to have a previous history of cardiac problems. He did have other medical problems.
He passed away of a massive heart attack at the age of 44, which unfortunately has happened more than once to some incredibly great people recently.
Craig's bark was worse than his bite.
As Stu said, in real life, he was a great big teddy bear that would never hurt a hair on anyone else's head.
He was passionate in his convictions and soooo loved his friends (and Journey) that he would go to great lengths to support them, even if it meant gaining enemies.

Don't knock the author who started this thread....the thought was genuine. Whether or not this whole argument contributed to his death, we will never know. I know how he felt about all this and I, as a physician, believe that all of it did affect him, maybe to the point of stressing him out, raising his blood pressure, and he went sooner than he should have.

But, he would have had to have had underlying cardiac issues anyway and without treatment, the result would have been the same. Maybe he would have gotten to see another Journey concert before he died..... But he was blessed to have been able to share so much with the band he loved and its' fans, and considered himself very lucky to have been a small part of it.

Knox, I agree with you. This event has to put things in perspective. There is more in life, life itself, that takes priority and precedence over the arguments that prevail here. Anyone who is so involved in these disputes, please take some time off and go hug your kids, tell your mom and dad you love them, get a physical exam, turn back to the things in life that are more precious than anything.

Val, while I appreciate what you said, it is absurd to blame Craig's death on Dean or to even question an involvement. Granted the two mixed it up pretty bad, but Craig made his own choice to contribute to the immature and vile responses that have taken place here as of late. I know you and Craig were very close and I will pray for comfort to all who mourn him.

I met Craig in 2004 and until I read what he had to say about me I thought we were on a friendly basis. I have bought a few of his photos and I am happy to have them.

I have to reiterate that the author of this thread is out of line and insensitive to all reading MR.

I am sorry you have lost someone you care about. This is not the time nor place to blame someone for this tragedy. Threats, rude behavior, etc. have been thrown from both sides. Everyone should just lay off one another and enjoy life. Journey is just a band.

I have read the whole thread. I got here a little late, and the author had edited part of his post.

I feel that the first part,( which I did get to read later in the thread) that they deleted, was totally uncalled for. There isn't one person you can blame for Pit's passing. As Mrs. H said in her post, Pit had some other medical issues.

I agree, lets take a day to mourn the passing of a man who loved Journey. Thoughts and prayers going out to the Pitman family and friends.

It is a tragedy that a good man has passed, but he was giving as much as he got. He came in like a whirlwind and immediately started attacking. He called it fighting fire with fire...but I hear water works much better.

I agree 100%. Deano has a serious problem with his temper and at MANY times I believe he should have his posting priveledges revoked. Not because of what he wants to say but for HOW he chooses to say it. Oddly enough, I would say that Deano and Pit were a LOT alike, just on opposite sides of the issue. But from all reports both men are/were very different in person than they are/were on this board. I was going to meet Pit (and at one time Deano) in August but I cannot judge for myself. I only have what I experienced here and the words of others to go by.

nnttln wrote:and this is one instance that was deadly.

Again, while this board may have contributed to some of the symptoms of Craig's health, it is a FAR strestch to say that it was Deano and this board that caused his demise.

nnttln wrote:Life is too short for this nonsense. RIP CP!

Yes it is. And Pit, I am certain, knew that as well. Yet we all make our choices of how we spend our time. And we all have passions in life. Those of us here and BT have a passion for Journey.

I agree with Dr Val that some of the stress here "may" have contributed to his passing..and I mean "may" have. We will never know.

He took Journey very personal and was very upset about this whole fiasco. It shouldn't have got to this point, but it did. Personally I'm revolted about this whole thing now. If you think Journey will respond or give this story any consideration now, your fucked.

Now, go get a life.

To say any one person contributed is perposterous. Craig had heart problems, smoked like a chimney, had poor eating habits, and drank like a fish-rest his soul...

but lived like hell as a passionate Journey lovin' fan.

Let's not place blame shall we?

Ok...LISTEN UP.

There are a lot of very stressed Journey fans right now. I again urge the band to DEAL with this situation.

In regards to Craig - yes, I do feel personally saddened by his passing and offer my condolences to friends and family.

However, blaming anyone for this situation is not fair, nor appropriate. Craig did give as good as he got and that included me in his firing line.

Now is not the time to debate that - now is the time to forget all that has passed and perhaps reflect a little on how we can move on from here.

This issue is not going away, but there must be some way opposing sides can remain passionate without being aggressive and without placing undue stress on yourselves and others.

Think about it.

And Craig - RIP.

Today at lunch, I called and spoke to lula, and when she abruptly interrupted me and told me of this, I stopped in my tracks.

Before reading these posts, I was and am affected. I feel horrible. I walk around and sometimes stop in my tracks and ask what if?

I don't care what certain people say about me and blame me, I don't care. THIS isn't about me. THIS is about someone passing, and believe me, I would give all of this up and take as many hits as you all want to give to have hime back here.

I cannot tell you how this has absolutely floored me. I got into it with him ferociously, but NEVER would have imagined having this happen. I cannot put into words what I feel, and you cannot possibly imagine how affected I really am.

Saddened,

Dean
