Thankyou.
Was beginning to feel excluded.
Mind you, NIG referred to me as a lazy b**tard when I first ventured onto this Forum.
Dunno which is worse, being insulted or being excluded.
I get the joke now, Shania - Thanks.

Bruce Kulick was in Kiss for some 12 years and was never a band member equal to Paul and Gene, he was basically an employee of Kiss. I'm sure Neal & Jon knew that Augeri could have problems or Perry could (technically) come back, at which point it's much simpler to have a new singer as an employee of Journey rather than a band member, financially. (I've heard from a friend of Marty Casey that the new singer for INXS has a similar arrangement, a 1-year contract or something along those lnies)

The sad thing to me is how this all came down for him. I'll never imagine why the band would have signed up for this tour with DL, knowing what kind of condition his voice was in. If they just assumed they could continue with the guide vocals, I still don't think that trapsing him out on stage every night to humiliate himself was the answer, I've pointed out before how they could have continued using a guide vocal track and still addressed the fans' concerns. Maybe JSS was in the wings since the European tour, but it took some time to get all the i's dotted and Augeri had to tough it out for a few weeks...I'm betting Steve wanted out, badly. I couldn't imagine what the past year must have been like for him. As a singer, I'll panic when I wake up with cotton mouth. I couldn't imagine living and performing under those circumstances. Literally - Those are the kinds of things I have nightmares about.
