When did they tell Augeri he was out?

My guess is they probably didn't tell him until quite recently, but that he probably knew his days were numbered.

For all we know, Soul Sirkus was a way for Neal to try out Jeff to see if he'd work in Journey... as someone mentioned before, some of these musicians are business-people... and they need to be sneaky.

That's what I was told.

Soul SirkUS was doing Journey tunes when they were on tour 1-2? years ago. He already knew the material.

In a perfect world, yes. I bet both Journey and JSS would like that too. I'm just saying that I don't doubt for a second that JSS could pull this off with one day of rehearsal and ten minutes of sound check or whatever it was. Or with close to no preparation at all if needed. What do we know, maybe they were locked up somewhere from early morning the day of the first JSS tour playing their socks off?

I was at a JSS gig in Newcastle in September '05. He played a lot of Journey there when previously (i.e. when I'd seen him in Liverpool the year before) he played his own stuff with 1 or 2 covers thrown in as well as the boogie medley.

Could there be something in that?

Yes, as I said before, he knew the material since way before SS.

JSS has known Journey material since he started singing. He's a pro and prolly knows all the words to all the songs Journey and Queen ever recorded.
