Glad you enjoyed it Nora. That was pretty much my reaction when I first heard it too. :D I can't understand some people saying his voice was shot for that tour.

This is off-topic, but I am reminded of a story in my family. When my oldest sister was a teenager, she and my mom went to see Tom Jones. My sister was so excited that she lost control, ran up on the stage and kissed him.

yeah, don't get that either. I did hear some bad performances, but there are many more great ones.

I did hear about a guy pulling Perry onto his lap at one show, lol.
Perry actually went through the crowd, and as he went back to the stage, the guy grabbed him. Again, Perry couldn't stop laughing. (Which is probably why he didn't do this anymore, and why you didn't get your chance, lol)

That is a fun one. I've got a couple of Bud commercials and a Coke commercial somewhere. I'll try to find them. I just found Strung Out live. I'll upload it and post it. It's not a great performance, but interesting to hear Journey do it.

Check out "One More" from Trial By Fire. This was in Osaka Japan, June 1998. One of Augeri's first shows. He sounds great, and Neal's 3 minutes at the end are just frickin' awesome!

Well compared to his voice in the glory days, it was a good bit raspier and he certainly couldn't the high notes nearly as well. As far as how he sounded when he sang within his range at the time, he still sounded great and that's one of the better performances I've heard from him. I'm also partial to his performance in "Missing You", one of my favorite vocal tracks of all time by anyone.

I'm not all that hung up on the high notes and I don't mind a little rasp as long as the soulful execution of the melody and elocution of the lyrics are there. Yes, Missing You live is fabulous.

agreed.

His voice was different, but it was far from "shot."
Not as many vocal fireworks, but that's ok.

In fact, while I enjoyed the high notes, I actually prefer the deeper voice

My favorite Perry performance on an album is "Frontiers" and that's where you could first really hear that change in his voice.

It's hard to beat his voice live, for me, but Frontiers comes the closest.

it's crappy at best on the coke one, needs lots of cleaning up. sounds more like David Glenn Eisley than Perry, but definately isnt' Perry singing.

Nig, as far as I know, no they aren't availible online, but soon as I dig them out in the next day or two, I'll scan them and post them.

Are YOU sharing anything? We already know your bias. It's in almost every post. SAVE IT ALREADY!

And I think it's a fine performance, but that's my personal opinion. This thread is about sharing, not your personal attacks against one of Journey's former singers. . I've got plenty of Perry stuff too. (and maybe someone new as well)

I was planning on sharing some of that stuff too, but you just ruined it because I'm officially pissed off after taking the time to post this stuff.

Now I wished I'd have kept it all in the file cabinet, so I wouldn't have to look through a bundle of Journey Force paper. (Which they STILL owe me a year or more of. bastards.)
