I never bought the covers album...didn't appeal to me...have you got it and if so am I missing anything?

You're not missing a whole lot. It's good...I just normally don't care for cover albums. The important tracks are on the R30 DVD...I'd just get that if you don't have it. Get the delux edition. It's got 2 DVDs,2CDs, and other cool little things like guitar pics.
Hope this helps. :-)

Damnit Escape79, I liked you up until now. j/k

I LOVE (some) cover tunes and such. But certainly not all... I'm leary of "tribute" albums though.

Well...one thing I WILL give Rush about the covers...they just did an EP of 7 songs instead of a full album like Styx's Big Bang Theory. They just wanted to have something aside from the Anniversary and Rush In Rio to tour behind. Logical move. :-)

I agree.

Touring behind that and a 7 song EP is better than touring behind a 4 song EP.

Deffinatly. The 2nd dvd is rare live and studio stuff with some interviews. They take care of their fans. :-)

Really? I'm a HUGE Rush fan and VT is a decent album but I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention that as one of their favorites.

I love VT. Definitely in my Top 5 Rush albums!

1. My favourite band apart from Journey is Deep Purple

2. Don't have a favourite song as such, a current top three would be 1. "Pictures of Home" - Deep Purple, "Trial by Fire" - Journey and "Fade Away" - HTP (Joe Lynn Turner and Glenn Hughes)

3. Either Deep Purple's Machine Head or Frontiers

I love that album too 8) Lots of great tunes and no fillers! I especially have a thing for "I Want Your World To Turn".
