I'm causing trouble by saying it's incorrect for people to criticize fans because of their weight? That's a really interesting viewpoint. I guess I can take from that you condone criticism of fans who are overweight? How far is it okay to go with this? Is it okay to criticize fans who wear glasses, or have receding hairlines, or dress poorly? Perhaps you can define these parameters for us so we all know what is and isn't okay.

And now you're inviting me to leave? Are you a new moderator here then?

Gee, I really hope none of you ever put on any extra weight ... or that your wives don't either. This is really low to slam fans because of their weight. That may be stooping lower than anything else I've seen on any other forum. Are you people perfect? I need to go into that pics thread and see if you've posted mugshots there. I really hope you have perfect hair, teeth, skin, etc.

And by the way, have you been to any other concerts of any other bands from the 70s and 80s? There are lots of people at any concerts of bands from that era who are overweight. If you haven't noticed, it's the plague of middle aged people these days. Lots and lots of middle aged women suffer from hypothyroidism which causes weight gain that does not come from eating. Not to mention the fact that menopause results in weight gain in the vast majority of women.

Grow up, please. This is really uncalled for.

I will admit to ruining my computer monitor with off-brand coke when I read the big-boned comment

I'll also admit to having yet to see one of the BT girls who, in any state of unconsciousness an at any near suicidal point in my life that I would have remotely considered flattening the bermuda grass with.

But I'll admit that saying so aloud is mean. Be nice. And I haven't noticed Siambalm or whatever the name is being a butt. Don't have to go all Deano on him/her calling names and such. Chill. It's Friday. He/She's probably a thighrubber too and is crying foul with good reason.

Nobody means any harm, I'm sure. I sure don't. And being that I'm built like a human spider (tall, lanky, with a beer gut) I can use words like "backbaconers," "thighrubbers," and "elevator testers" without getting in trouble.

Now quit getting all pissy, else I'll ruin the "Pics of Us" thread with a shot of me in the swimmin' pool.

I won't, and she won't.

People are so damn sensitive these days. It was a freaking joke. Don't recall my initial post pointing anyone out directly by name.

Now put down the Oreo's, stop playing on the computer and get on the damn treadmill!

My apologies to the "horizontally challenged" Journey fans out there.

I won't, and she won't.

I'm glad you're so sure of that. I've seen many people say the same thing and a few years later ... whooops ... what happened.

I also hope you and your wife are never disfigured because then you won't be perfect either. Or is that acceptable ... to be disfigured as long as you're not fat -- even if the fat comes from a medical condition?

Now put down the Oreo's, stop playing on the computer and get on the damn treadmill!

Is this addressed to me? I don't do the treadmill. I like Tae-Bo myself.

And by the way, if you think that was a joke criticising people because of how they look, it really wasn't funny. It can be very hurtful to some people. I've had friends who got very upset about things like that particularly if their physical looks really weren't something they had control over. We can discuss and disagree about Journey topics, but it's really grade-school behaviour to pick on people because of how they look. None of us are 100% perfect.

I never mentioned you or anyone else in my initial post but since you called me out.

You sound like a big pain in the ass. If in the unlikely event you ever trapped a man I hope he has enough sense to put a bullet in his head to experience the sweat release of death.

Yes my wife and I are thin and attractive. Ha ha ha.

I'm not going to throw a big fit like siobhan22 but she's right about the weight jokes. On the other hand, people do need to be a bit more thick-skinned. I'm no beanpole myself but I still have a sense of humor about it.

I have my faults, but I'm not going to save the world by taking offense to an offhanded joke on a Journey board. I have an ex-girlfriend who gained a ton of weight after developing breast cancer. So before whatever her name is gets on her big fat soapbox again, I have dealt with that kind of thing personally. She JOKES about it because she is cool.

Don't worry about me making a politically incorrect comment. If you're so damned concerned about fat people, steal their M&M's. buy them a Richard Simmons tape, I don't know.

Grenade isn't actually a Warrior, per se, but he is an ordnance so widely employed by combatants that no Flame Warriors guide would be complete without mentioning him. When lobbed into a discussion forum Grenade instantly reduces any semblance of reasonable discourse to smoking rubble and sets in motion the forces of war. Grenade can be loaded with different explosives depending on the forum, but some common detonating materials are Clinton, gun control, homosexuality, Reagan, abortion, taxes, conspiracy theory, the NEA, welfare reform, etc. When beleaguered and facing certain defeat a Warrior can deflect even the most determined attack by triggering a diversionary explosion.

Actually, you quoted my post and said "put down the oreos, stop playing with the computer and get on the treadmill". Sure seemed like you were addressing that comment to me.

You sound like a big pain in the ass.

You're entitled to your opinion. But it really doesn't make you look like a great person that you sit and insult others.

If in the unlikely event you ever trapped a man I hope he has enough sense to put a bullet in his head to experience the sweat release of death.

Ooops ... I already trapped one ... about 8 years ago. I'll let him know he should put a bullet to his head in your opinion. I'm sure he'll consider it very seriously -- NOT.

Yes my wife and I are thin and attractive. Ha ha ha.

Good for you. I hope you manage to stay that way forever and never gain any weight from a medical condition or otherwise, and that nothing ever happens to disfigure your attractive looks. I've seen both happen to really great looking friends of mine and it's been terribly difficult for them to adjust. One of those friends was someone like you who poked fun at people who were overweight or weren't as attractive as she thought she was. Since she has suffered a disfiguring accident and gained weight from steroids used to address her brain injury, she often tells others not to criticize how people look, because one day that might be you.

You know, it does seem like people who often make fun of other people for this or that, typically end up having the same kind of problem later in life.

Good for her. That's very cool. But not everyone finds it that easy.

I think it would behoove you to consider how your comments might affect others. I like to judge people from the inside -- because whether the outside is perfect now or not, it's all transient and beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyway.

Many of the things you say and the flippant way in which you will tear down another person don't exactly make me think of you as a warm person. It comes across as very superficial. Is that the way you want people to think of you? Or, don't you care?

If you're so damned concerned about fat people, steal their M&M's. buy them a Richard Simmons tape, I don't know.

As I've said before, not every fat person is fat because they ate too much or didn't work out enough ... so those wouldn't be helpful.
