To a certain extent, yes, I agree with you on your very last sentence. NIG, if they reunited with Perry for one tour, do you think they would be playing to that same number of fans? If there would be thousands more, why would that be? Or do you think they would still be playing on half a stage opening for Def Leppard?

Hey, I'll give ya that, but they sure wouldn't be stooping to the stuff they are doing now. They'd sell a hell of alot more tickets than the 30th anniversary tour. And what's up with the half a stage stuff on this tour?

So what? I would take a Final Farewell of major arenas and the classic lineup in a heartbeat. If you think about it, everything is set for Perry to return. There is no singer, really. The time is right, if there ever was one.
These guys are addicted to scratch. They would get more bank from ONE tour with Perry than the previous 8 years combined.

But NIG, I'm not asking for Perry to come back. I'm asking people to give Jeff a chance to give them a new sound. If that doesn't happen and they stay on the Greatest Hits with a soundalike road, then hell yeah, let Perry come back for a reunion tour and then retire the name.
NealIsGod wrote:I disagree. Journey is no bigger than DL, and DL has their singer. And they can't sell out arenas by themselves anymore. All you would get is more of the die-hard Perry fans (read: hausfraus) coming to the shows.

I'm a day late and a $ short. What fiasco?whocares wrote:Most concertgoers don't want a Perry soundalike, hell they just want to hear the songs. Most fans here that love Perry certainly don't want a look alike or sound alike, as there was previously. If anyone thinks Singing songs "just like" Perry doesn't ruin voices, then they know nothing about singing correctly. This is something that through time will never change, Journey is a love hate thing with the band and the fans, the two sides of love. Love Perry or love anyone else who is the lead singer.
It's funny the more Jeremy says he woudln't/doesn't want the job, the more his name is brought up. Certainly after the fiasco earlier, he wouldn't take it, as his feelings towards the band members changed, everyone could see that.
