Common sense tells me that if they are not informed, as it appears, then it follows that the prognosis is not good, either in a case of a serious medical nature or just a more permanent rather than temporary vocal incapacity.

The official site is worthless, we all know that. Neal could drop over dead tonight, and the official site would never report it. A fan could post about it and it would be deleted. So I don't hold much stock in the official site.-ERIC

True, but still some look for a way to pull Augeri down with out knowing anything. And some people (newbies) wouldn't know if those people are speaking the truth or not. Why speak negative on something we know not all the facts on?-ERIC

You know by now that people are going to do what they're going to do, no matter what people think. I'd think you'd expect the negativity by now, because they sure aren't going to change.

Whatever's going on with Augeri, no one here will probably ever get the truth, it's all speculation, and people posting stuff that's most likely not true, will continue to happen. So will the "arguing" about who's right or wrong. it's a cycle.

Ok, I never quite understood this thing about Chile. So you're saying they pretended like Augeri had pneumonia so they could play in Hawaii the week after? How does that make sense? They couldn't do "miming" in Chile? They couldn't fly to Hawaii from Chile in 6 days?

I do not understand why he couldn't have been on the tail end of a pneumonia infection. That makes more sense to me than them cancelling Chile just because they had another gig 6 days later.

not yet, but I've been thinking about it. And I don't drink much. This board is going to make me an alcoholic. Not that it's a problem.

There's a mood here tonight, and i'm just trying to lighten it up. Thank God dinner's almost ready.

Look guys. I was not trying to start a pissing contest. I was simply trying to pass along information. Kevin would certainly know. These guys are close to one another. The other band members have told fans in the past week or so they talk to Steve everyday. Once again, I never said this was confirmed. Just trying to pass information along. It is quite obvious IMO, being in the medical field all my life, that this is at least a somewhat serious thing. Not simply a loss of voice. Once again, I wish him good health more than anything, because that matters more than anything!!It can happen to any of us at any time. Once again, my prayers go to him and his family. This guy is a super fellow. He is the kind of guy a mother would be proud to have as a son, or a child would be proud to have as a father. I will simply not get into bashing him, but I'm not that kind of person anyway. My prayers go to him and his family. Godspeed Steve and keep the faith. I almost wish I had not even posted this.

It does seem strange that K. Elson would share such personal information with a fan about Augeri 's personal health problems. I would think that IF that were true, the information would come from Augeri himself, or it would be an official statement from the band or management about his health.

Anyways, I do hope that whatever is going on with his health that he is getting better!

Over at Augeriville there's a interview between Augeri and a voice coach that occured right before this tour. Auguri himself states he has TMJ. This is a degenerative condition also.

The information would not be made in an official statement because it has not been confirmed. Elson was probably speaking off the record with a concerned fan. I can tell you from meeting Ross Valory and their tour manager in the past, these guys are willing to talk about pretty much anything. This does not surprise me at all.

Steve Augeri just became a member of Al-Qaeda. He is helping Hezbollah bomb Israel. He also flew a plane into the World Trade Center.

Oops. No, he was a pretty damn good singer that helped Journey tour a few extra years and went along with a bad decision for a tour or so recently.

And just how stupid will this board look if it turns out he is actually ill?

I'm not saying he is, but if he wasn't... why would the sound man tell someone that? He didn't need to say anything like that. He could just have said they didn't really know anything.

Best thing that could happen is that something was put online by an official source just to shut everyone up.
