Nothing wrong with opinions, but remember that they're like assholes - everyone has one...

Try backing up an opinion with good, well thought out reasons rather than just saying that everything is 'gay' You might receive a better reaction

I'm not too crazy about the words/vocals...but the song itself...AMAZING. Especially the guitar solo at the end. Beautiful melody with the overlayed guitars and synths. :-)

I like the little part where Augeri comes in subtly on the acoustic rythm guitar(I think it plays throught the rest of the song underneath Neal's lead once it comes in) around the start of verse 2.

okay Faith in the heartland....that sounds like a song that Lee greenwood would sing...i know its just the title but still.....i think Arrival had better songs on it both musically and lyrically Jack blades is the man. I rememeber the first time i heart higher place i was in my barn washing my dads truck and 97.9 the loop was like here's a new one from journey and i was like....thats pretty good....so i got arrival and it had...like 4 good solid tunes on it.....but it had a lot of mush.....take escape and frontiers ...they both had one balled.......and they were incredible balleds....good enough to stand the test of time.....generations and arrivals balleds were just plain cheesey and whimpy

Great, another pre-schooler joins the board....

Valpo's post makes me think of Steve Martin's famous line when reacting to a heckler in the audience.

"Yeah, I remember my first beer."

 Classic, LOVE Wild And Crazy Guy. Think it was taped at the Warfield unless I'm wrong.

Yeah, I saw that song title and thought "oh no". But the great guitar lines saved it.

My problem with Generations is it's trying too hard to be "Journey for older people".

I had the EXACT reaction when learning the title.... totally fearful of impending cheesiness.

Thankfully I was wrong.

My problem is that it tries too hard to be "USA! USA! USA!". FITH, OOHW, even Self-Defense are all way too "midwest life" for a west coast-er like myself. 8) I was disappointed in that, because I listen to Journey to get away from reminders of troops in Iraq etc.

You hit the nail on the head...it was like they were playing for people in their 30's instead of playing for everyone. The only three journey tracks with SA i can think of that were really awesome and first class are higher place, to be alive again, and either remember me or signs of life

Yeah well, I kind of agree there...goes with the "demographic" I suppose. But I must admit, despite
the subject matter, OOHW is a really cool sounding track.

I do like Valpokid's concept, "write for everyone". Even though the album talks about "Every Generation", it tends to cater just the older one. If you can write a CD that pleases the older
fans, and also gains new ones you're onto something.

Morons!! Please read
Ive been here some time now...decided to sign up...this forum is riddled with repulsive, small minded, and small-dicked, (evidently), little toss-pots

I dont know who the moderators are here.. but they should be shot..... the language used here is excessive...and the abuse seems very personal

What Monker says is correct

There seems to be about half a dozen people here who are ignoring Andrew's requests...and plainly just not interested in keeping this forum "clean and informed" they quite clearly are just "taking the piss" out of Andrew..and have no respect for his wishes at all .....

It all makes for pretty pathetic reading, from an "outsiders" point of view.. I think a few have lost the plot here.... the place needs to be "cleansed" of the detritus, .. (I think the word "morons, was used..how apt..as the standard of post here is pretty moronic) and needs to be rebuilt

Adios to some of you I think, when normality returns
