INSANITY!

Postby Blueskies » Wed Jul 26, 2006 4:30 am

The world is full of insane people, but this place has more than it's fair share. I've only been here about a week and the level of insanity running through is truly amazing! Don't know this Reardon, but he is one truly fucked up individual. There are others that I've noticed that have some warped personal agenda's and have been going after other people for YEARS! They only post after the one's their out to get. I came here because it seemed open and fun and not run by a Nazi, but a little moderation is needed to fumigate the place of the obviously insane who has hijacked it . I'm not talking about everyone here, because there are some cool people that just want to discuss, praise, joke, and criticize their fave band and each other, which IMO is how it should be. Message to the insane: There are many mental help sites on the net, spend your time wisely and go check them out! A music board is not where you should be, a mental hospital is!

nice post... :) When Andrew returns... he will be faced with some mighty interesting choices about what to do here. Will the focus be on the bands music... or will the focus be on the personalities that post here???? If its the personalities, then I call for renaming this area--- not a journey site... but rather a martini hour or something lame in that nature---This is a great place... but it really is an under achiever in what could happen here.

Yes tapegate has opened doors for (to  ) us that perhaps we'd just as soon have closed.

True Red, but then the psychos would find something, or who, else to rag on. They are people seeking attention and will use any means to get it.

As an aside: Don't you think that one of the biggest reasons Steve Perry wanted to quit is because of the crazies stalking him? He more or less has stated that in interviews. Even said he had death threats! No wonder he became a recluse and tried to stay out of the public eye for so many years. Now that he's showed himself a few times, he has a bodyguard. I don't blame him! The stalkers in here should should give everyone a little insight to it ( which is very tiny in comparison to what SP has gotten ). I think he is drawn to singing and performing every day of his life, but is so wary of the impending bullshit and insane people, that it stops him, and he thinks twice about it. Put yourself in his shoes a moment; As big as he became can you imagine the huge amount of nut jobs that came at him? I'd think twice about getting back in the spotlight too! As you can see, the demented and insane are on one track and never give up.

Then you have Neal, who gets hit in the head with a fucking beer bottle and keeps playing as he is bleeding. No bodyguard for him! 8)

Part of the business. Vince Neil in the greates BTM episode ever: "Get ready 'cuz it's coming. If you don't like it, get out."

And Perry did get out. Props to him for coming to NS' defense on stage though when that happened.

Yes it's the price you pay for fame, but I think the loonies and death threats are too high a price! I'm sure that at the time Perry started it was'nt as bad as it is today. When people start out to create their art they just want to put it out there. They are not thinking of all of the ramifications that the fame and fortune they seek will bring. Neil Schon is not the household name that Steve Perry is, but there are times I'm sure he's had a bodyguard too!

ER.. Perry's not exactly a household name, either.

"Journey" is the household name.

He's more of a name than NS is. Most casual fans know his name but could'nt name anyone else in the band if they tried.

That's the nature of the guitar biz. Very few are household names.

That's true. In my fave list of guitarists Schon ranks #2. Right after EVH. Who did manage to be a household name in some reguards. It helps when the band is named after you though. :D

Anybody who knows Journey, definitely knows Schon from Classic Journey. He's part of what made the songs hits. I'll always claim that it is his greatest work.

I was talking about the casual fan. Not those that have followed their career. Anyway I was talking about stalkers and loonies, not NS per say.

I would say that most people under the age of 50 know who Steve Perry is.

I have never talked to a musician who does not know who Neal Schon is either.

Maybe someone who has no interest in music might not know who Neal Schon is, but all Rock musicians do.

Yes musicians and educated music fans but not casual fans, who , it's sad to say, make up the majority.
