I vote yes on that too, it's unanimous, it's off the air next week. hehe Whoever picks the show's songs is wrong in the head if they think people want to hear those songs sung week in and week out. Those songs aren't the kinds of songs that group would record. They need to have songs in the same genre of what the band will be. I'm assuming that's hard rock at the very least.

While we're cancelling Mark Burnett shows, can we get Big Brother cancelled too? Talk about slime of slime.

Yeah, lots of crap on TV these days.

But I am hanging in there with RockStar. Funny how each week they tell people they need to rock out, yet they keep giving them such lousy songs. And they keep letting Zayra stay even though she is the worst of the bunch. So contrived.

I generally hate most of those shows, but some can be entertaining. The singers for Supernova are mediocre at best. I wonder if Tommy and co. had anything AT ALL to do with their selection. Problem for me is my wife watches it and expects me to watch it with her. She and her co-workers watch it so they can rag on the contestants at work the next day, not because she likes the singers.

Do you or your wife like any of them? Dilana is the only one I like.

unfortunately, I think that's what the creators and producers of these shows want more than actual good creative content. They just want people TALKING about their shows. It's workded, huh? Even if a show get's a crappy review and stays on tv, chances are the free publicity of "water cooler" talk is doing wonders for them, and will get people to tune in out of curiosity.

I watched the first episode and she was my favorite. Kind of reminded me of a young Stevie Nicks of whom I'm a big fan.

Can't be bothered to watch because of all the other crap performers and songs.

Keep us posted, maybe when they weed out some more of the crap, if she's still on, I'll watch.

Tommy flirts and it's fun to watch. Dilana is a bit over the top and one of the babes was
"humping" something the other night...it's kind of sick fun! If I miss a night, I don't mind.

I told my wife that we need to watch every Tuesday to see her, b/c she will never be in the bottom 3 and have to sing on Wednesday.

You're so sneaky.

Actually, I couldn't watch last week because we've been having brown outs here. My husband and I spent last Tuesday night drinkiing the 3 bottles of Champagne we had in the fridge, so they wouldn't go bad. By the 3rd bottle, we forgot we had no power and tried to turn on the TV to watch Rockstar and after that It's all a blur.

I think Dilana will win. Either that or that guy with the punk multi-colored hair. Those are the only two that I could even imagine in a band with Tommy Lee. I wonder if Supernova had their minds made up after the first night and are merely going through the motions until september.

Actually, these were bottles from the 80's,older corks are fragile, if the temperature changes drastically, a few times, they will get a little vingery.

We were having brown outs for 10 days. Fridge off for 12 hours, fridge on for 9 hours, off again for 24 hours, etc...

In humidity then AC the corks expand and contract. Not good.

From the little one liners the singers shoot back at the band, it appears they were selected before Supernova was chosen as the band. It also appears that while Supernova says it wants to Rock Harder, there isn't much more of a description musicly than that. At least last year they were trying out for a band that already had a clearly defined existence. Supernova just wants to rock. Shouldn't they be singing some of Supernovas songs with the other bands the members were with? We want to Rock harder, really isn't a direction.

Did you see this on the front page? Andrew always has the inside scoop...

ROCKSTAR: SUPERNOVA - CONTROVERSY FOLLOWS THE SHOW AROUND:
RockStar: Supernova continues on, largely unguided and with no quality control in place and with some 8 weeks still left to run, will anyone be watching by the time the final arrives?
I will, but only to continue commenting on it here, certainly not out of enjoyment. I continue to get a ton of mail on this and I'm yet to see one positive comment on the show. Same goes when reading the major message boards, including the show's very own forum. Isn't anyone listening?
So, what did week 4 bring us? Yep, more Nirvana, more Rolling Stones, more repetition of last year's musical styling and more of the same screaming vocals that have dominated the show since the outset.
I heard a rumbling this week that Supernova may not even tour worldwide. Well, that makes complete sense to me, as who is going to put any money behind these guys once the show finishes? I'd make an even money bet on the guys maybe/maybe not completing that album they speak of. Talking of which, the guys played a few demos to the "rockers" this week. Sounded pretty straight forward actually.
There is talk amongst those already booted from the show that no one actually likes the proposed debut single. At leas that's what 2 have said in interviews after being eliminated (see news item below).
Performances this week? Patrice did a good job and copped lame criticism, only to fight back and put Dave Navarro in his place. Hey Dave - you ain't "dope" nor "awesome man".
Jill rocked it up ok, but didn't turn Gilby's crank with her dry humping. I'm sure there would be plenty of others interested if Gilby wasn't.
Zayra looked ready for her part in the next Star Trek film, singing only marginally better than Kermit The Frog. Actually, I think Kermit has a better vocal tone.
Toby did ok on the Billy Idol classic, but his range limitations were highlighted, as were the rest of the male singers. Storm again impressed as did Dilana. Lukas stuck to his usual raspy growl which seems to impress a few, but not me.

Spoiler Alert - The elimination - if you haven't seen it, don't bother...Supernova's on camera decision made absolutely zero sense whatsoever.
Kermit, sorry, Zayra was allowed to stay. WTF? Well, politics it seems....there appears to have been a off-camera battle with the ousted Phil, who did nothing wrong on the show itself.
Here's some info received overnight from a US source!
"Phil did a radio interview with a local radio station here in Baltimore, MD and since he has a well known local band here in Maryland, the radio station asked him what his band mates think about him on the show. Phil replied that "they love it, they vote for me every week whether they think I suck or now they are happy cause they know what this is doing for our band and our website and myspace pages are getting record hits."
Apparently Phil was told before the show that the producers had heard about the remarks that he made about the show and his band and they were not happy and would discuss it with him after the show.
Next thing you know he is in the bottom three and they are telling him that they are questioning his commitment and intent with the band and show and that is why all of the contestants were so shocked when he was sent home.
Phil was given 30 minutes to pack all his clothes and personal stuff and he was carried to a hotel. That is when they discussed the comments he made to radio station and were very unhappy with him using the show as a vehicle for his own band. Tommy Lee also called him at his hotel room and talked with him the show and other things.
Apparently the plan was to send Zayre home and in light of Phil's situation they decided to axe him. Phil was made to sign a confidentiality pact with the producers of show before he left for the airport."
I'm promised more info shortly, so I'll follow up on this. Either way, the show isn't getting any better and Tommy Lee for one seems totally disinterested in being there or making any comments worth airing. And no Butch Walker for 3 weeks now! He is a smart man!
