You deleted JSS's only post here during your purge  collateral damage I guess. WB

I was mostly OUT for a few days, so missed this JSS post I guess. What did he say? Why was he here?

Thanks all

Well, not sure it was really a board, but It was Michael's forum, The Journey forum. That's when the Internet was very young. No chat Interface etc.. If I recall, once a week chat with IRC. Remember? That seems so long ago

Well, it is old and not everyone knows the technical difference between "group" and "board". It was just a guess. :)

Yes, you are talking about Skylord's forum....That forum eventualy became Back Talk and encorprated into the official site. It wasn't attached to Yahoo...that was the Journey digest.

Sky recently made a post to BT about the history behind the forum...

http://www.journeymusic.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/031162.html

If you look further down in the thread, he follows up with some additional history, back to 1996.

The Journey mailing list was started by me back in 1992, or so. It was suffering the same types of issues that Andrew is having...people being abusive, not listening when I said to stop acting in certain ways...same problems different names - it's ALWAYS been there. So, I felt it was more of a headache then 'fun', so I stopped moderating it. The mail server it was on eventualy dropped it due to having so much traffic. Dan Stacy picked it up and it eventualy ended up on Yahoo as the Journey digest.

So, the list on Yahoo is even older then Sky's forum...which is why I asked about it. Before the mailing list, there was only AOL, Prodigy and GEnie to post on - there was no Journey internet forum in 1991 or so...there were not even any Journey related websites.

The last I heard, Deano, he was still hanging round Liverpool searching for that stinking, yellow-toothed Limey doppelgänger. But as there's rather a surfeit of orange pleasure cones in our dear country, he's probably found himself somewhat distracted from the task at hand :D
