Weird Perry Dream??

This sounds gayer than it really is, but...

About 12 years ago, in between the time Time 3 came out and FTLOSM, I would occassionally have weird dreams about meeting Steve Perry and Journey, or just running into them in some odd situation. Sometimes they were disturbing, like I would dream that Perry would be physically deformed, like his jaw would be removed from surgery (I guess tied into those old cancer rumors), and he would just stare at me...Other times they were odd dreams like I would be helping the band load equipment out, and I'd talk to Jonathan about his keyboard rig - just oddball stuff that really didn't have any purpose.

Funny thing, I had a Perry dream this past weekend, I really hadn't had anything like that in years. I dreamed that Perry came back out for a small tour, and he was performing very small clubs, like supper clubs with palm trees and cocktail waitresses and shit. So in this dream, Perry came out, looking pretty much like he did in the Perryville Meet N Greet pics from a few months ago, but he was wearing the red tails...It was a very intimate environment, with only maybe 300 people there, and it was very casual, as a lot of people were sitting at their tables as he started performing. Me and about 40 others were standing in front of the stage, and he opened with "Line of Fire" of all songs - And up close, it was so obvious he was lip synching the song! Occasionally he'd catch my eye and look over my head or something like he was intentionally ignoring me or something. People didn't seem to notice he was lip synching, then he went into Foolish Heart, which he was really singing. Most of the dream, I was just talking to people around me, watching the show. Then, my wife started heckling Steve from the other side of the room...Apparently she was very drunk, and she was pointing and saying something to him....About 5 bouncers came out and tackled Sabrina, while Perry continued the show..All I kept thinking was, "What a fucking dick, that he let those huge guys tackle my wife!" So at that point, Perry had done about 6 songs, and he ended the show and walked off the stage. Then the dream pretty much ended with me thinking what a dick Steve Perry was.

Really strange, especially since I hadn't dreamed anything like that in a really long while. Maybe Perry is slowly making his way back into our subconcious to prepare us for a 6 song EP or something? Maybe a tour with Tony Bennett. Really a fucked up dream.

Anyway, that's embarassing. Just thought I'd share.

I think everyone has had at least one Perry and/or Journey dream at some point, I'm just the only one nutty enough to parade my oddball subconscious around on a public message board...;)

The Tecumseh Corn Festival is real close to me.
As is the Anual Windsor Detroit Freedom Festival
(renamed summer fest this year)

I've had TWO Journey-related dreams in the last week...

1 - Dreamed I was talking to Jon about whether or not some audio format was compatible for his computer.

2 - Had something to do with Neal playing guitar but can't remember anything more than that right now.

These are the only ones I've ever had of Journey. Must be on the brain too much...Man, I need to get the heck away from here for awhile.

Yes, I've had dreams about Steve Perry through the years...but they can't be publicly disclosed! :lol:

I had a dream about DDY a few weeks back also.....He was back singing with the group, pretty scary and I woke up in a state of shock. I'm seeing a dream specialist now just to make sure none of that shit doesn't happen again :lol:

Hmmm....I think a guy's dream is probably going to be a bit different than what a lady would post here....But I don't get the chocolate reference??

well, no not really. :) I think a lot of us feel something is brewing with SP - at least, we can hope. Your dream sounds good & I'd like for that to happen, except for the lip synching & wife tackling, of course.

I admit, I've had some Journey-related dreams but they're never anything "prophetic"... usually just one of the guys showing up in odd places.

My ex-mother-in-law used to say "don't eat chocolate before going to bed. You may have strange dreams!". I don't eat chocolate before bed, but my sleep medication gives them to me instead ! :lol:
