You seem confident that Augeri is finished w/ Journey. I hope that is not true, but you seem to have inside sources. My question is if this is the case, why keep up the charade that he is still a member of the band? Bands change lead singers all the time (recently Survivor), their current tour is exceeding expectations. In fact, in light of the tapegate situation - you would think they would want to distance themselves from Augeri as quickly as possible.
This makes me think that he is still in their plans if he can recover.

My thoughts are that if you believe tapes were used in place of vocals then you pretty much believe Augeri will not return to the stage with Journey. Not an easy scandal to live down and doubtful fans aware of the allegations will forget anytime soon. I think if Augeri were to return by some miracle, his performances would be scrutinized like never before. I'm one who believes he will not return to the stage with Journey and of course.... this is just my opinion.

My guess is only the visitors of Journey forums, classic rock forums, and those that simply follow the band and the people who care enought to listen to the rants. It does not matter to me how many concert goers are aware, some probably couldn't care less if the lead vocals are live or not. I do care and would at least like to know before spending a small fortune on concert tickets. As long as bands are being honest and allowing fans to make up their own minds I don't have a problem, it is the dishonesty that gets me.

Watch this space..... but prepare for disappointment
If so few people know why did the band go live after using tapes? They must have thought a whole lot more people than 10-15 knew about it to do something so dramaticlights1961 wrote:Lula wrote:I don't know how many people are aware of the tape scandal. my opinion is only people who know and CARE... are the 10 to 15 people who bring it up every day over here....who also have been tearing to shreds Augeri since 1998... but those 10-15 people who stir it up think they speak for everyone in the world...

Jeff is not helping out temporarily belive meMCC620 wrote:I meant that he wasn't on a grueling tour schedule between March and June so that added to the sounding good in Europe. And with regards to being deathly ill, I have had pneumonia, thought I was feeling better and then had a relapse months later that put me out of commission for a month. But I'm not a singer, so that happening to a singer can absolutely cause his being out of commission for several months or more.
He's off the tour which seems to be making alot of folks happy. JSS is there helping out temporarily, I'll let you know after I see him this month what I think. And before you say it, I have his solo and Soul Sirkus music and do enjoy it.
*peace*

Have you never felt great one day and deathly ill the next? Maybe because he hadn't sung since March and a whole week of singing back to back nights and traveling caused a relapse? I was at the first two shows and then the 4th show here. He wasn't "bad", rough better describes it. And the tour isn't over....

Please, do not insult us. He was cruising along just fine with the lead vocal track playing until he got called out by Deano. Then, they decided to put him out there long enough to prep Jeff to take over. Also, Deen lightened his workload by singing 4 songs and even Jon sang 1. As soon as Jeff was ready (contract, rehearsals, etc.) they announced Steve had a "throat condition." While that IS true, they left out the part that he's had it for some time and they've been but-fucking their fans with less than honest shows. Manchester was a perfect example of how they KNEW Augeri's voiced was fucked. And people think Perry's an asshole. While he may be, he always had integrity on stage and that's all I really care about.
