The "new" management is IMO.....shaky as shit on a pile of Jello.

You couldn't be thinking it is Herbie, could you :?:

Hmm...

IMO, though, a horrible idea.

Drag HH out of retirement...

Why would he want to do that? He wouldn't touch Journey with a 39 1/2 pole.

Deano, why can't you just say what you have heard? How can you possibly catch shit for that? So, what, Journey is getting new management. I'm sick of these games. Who the fuck is it?

Deano, Cetera and whoever else says their sources are telling them Steve is gone, management is changing and Jon is leaving....

Why don't you lot just say exactly what you've heard? Nothing's censored on here.

Yeah. Somebody please spit it out. I am not convinced about Jon leaving, but the rest I can buy. The management part I am dying to know.

I could buy all of it to be honest... if someone would spill exactly what they heard about the Jon leaving thing it might be believable.

Because he's not a 'rocker' and JSS and Neal may want to evolve away from Cain-esque ballads?

I had read some reviews, even on "the other" site, that stated Jon seemed to be going through the motions and bored through the first few shows. He seemed fine in Charlotte, and I have read since he has been very interactive during the shows. I would love to hear JSS, Neal, and Jon material written together. Neal has apparently stated they are writing new material on the road right now. That tells me a lot about the SA situation, and I would assume Jon is involved in that.

Well, it occurred to me when other Forum Members were speculating that he may be leaving.

It would make sense to me. I can't think of any other reason, unless he's just weary and wants to retire - maybe someone else can shed some light.

JSS might inspire them all to create some new stuff. Let's hope Jon stays on - but if he doesn't, I respect that.

Sometimes it is just time to move on.

Well, I risk the fact that what I say is NOT 100% confirmed, however, it is very likely that Journey are dumping the old man, and are going to manage themselves; ie, Neal is taking control

Independant Management.

There. Of course, this might change, but it's the best news so far in 3 years.

Yes - Jonathan Cain looked thoroughly bored when I saw Journey too. In fact, the happiest I've seen him in years was in a clip where he was tootling about in a Smooth Jazz concert.

You have been wrong on everything so far.

Is this a good thing? Didn't he just lose $300,000 of his own money on Soul Sirkus?

The thing I'm wondering is... if folk have worked out that Steve won't be back, and some don't even want him to come back... why don't the guys just be honest and say he's away permanently instead of leaving everyone to wonder?

Yeah, he's a risk taker. Harder than just releasing old Journey material and collecting checks.

They are on tour at the moment.

They probably figure:- get the tour out of the way, make everything legal, then make an announcement....

Why do you have to turn this into a dig against Perry? The "old Journey material" is the only material anyone is buying.

I'm just curious about the reasons why people think Schon would manage the band well. Everything I've ever read about the guy suggests that he isn't a natural businessman.

Is this is an unfair perception?

Yeah, they have the luxury of actually touring with the guy before they announce it. They will know how he fits in the band before he is an official member. Or, if he doesn't fit, they haven't embarassed themselves by having to dump yet another singer!
