The general public isn't "falling in love with Journey again." They have been getting some positive reviews, some negative. Maybe you are hearing things I am not?

The success of this tour doesn't have more to do with Def Leppard than it does Journey. Journey's just as popular, if not more so, than DL is in the U.S. right now.

It's so moody and melancholy...and perfectly suits Perry's voice at that stage of his career...plus it's the last song on the last record he sang on...call me a sentimental old poofter but this adds a poignancy to that track...plus it sits so well next to "It's Just The Rain"...another killer.

I have to agree. TBF is definitely a song for a certain mood, but it's great to listen to in that mood. It's relaxing.
The only thing I don't like is the Bible quotes in it. When I heard the passage next to the lyrics I thought, "What the...?"
A Fire Inside wrote:You misunderstand... I was pointing out that this tour might be creating more buzz than usual because it's 2 popular classic rock bands instead of just Journey.

conversationpc wrote:Why does that offend you so much? That's part of what makes it such a great song.
A Fire Inside wrote:Yeah, the first verse is almost directly quoted from the Bible...
Treasures in the jars of clay
Let the light shine out of darkness
Fallen down but not destroyed
It's just another trial by fire
I had to search Google for the passage, but it's Corinthians:
For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness,"[a]made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
