What is that comment about seriously? You make it seem like Frankie's Survivor will be playing much larger venues that Jimi's band. Both will play about the same crowd unless Frankie's Survivor plays FREE shows like they are now. If Frankie's band ever decides to play a cocnert for money he will be playing nightclubs too. This arguement is silly. Both Frankie and Jimi would be better off with each other. Survivor is playing Detroit this weekend....FREE concert and I can tell you people will be disappointed that Jimi is not there..........because believe me more people go to see a band's lead singer than lead guitarist. They both will hurt for this breakup.

RID, I don't think that's necessarily true. Alot of people going won't care whos singing as long as they hear the songs. I've been to several concerts such as Styx and Journey, I would say half of those people didn't even know they changed singers or even care. They are their to hear the songs. ONly people that get wrapped up in it are the diehard fans. I think you should go and give us a review. What the hell, it's free right?

I understand what RID is saying and I am only SPEAKING FOR MYSELF. Maybe I am overly sentimental but alot of times your memories are not only connected with the song itself but the person who sang those songs and therefore made that song special. Steve Augeri sounded great with Journey IMO but their old songs were never the same for me without hearing Steve Perry sing them. I am just using that as an example. I wish RM all the best I just wish that FS and JJ could have come to some resolution with their differences because they were truly magical together.

I agree I have no good memories of JJ singing Eye of the Tiger. It's just not his style nor his song.

It's important to have good memories attached to music I am happy to have grown up with the music that was around then because there isn't much new stuff out there now that begins to touch the surface. FS and JP are extremely prolific people who were not afraid to put the cards on the table and open their hearts for us all to see, a gift and rarity today.

sherylrob, you've got a good head on your shoulders! Very nicely said not because it was something I not only agree with but extremely objective.

Meanwhile Im a DB fan more than JJ but I for me when they were good they were BRILLIANT. I have wonderful memories of BOTH. Unfortunately I have not been priveliged to hear them live. Keep those memories you have, they are priceless!

Hey RID, once you see Robin perform I think you may change your opinion. He is a great performer. The last few shows that I attended where JJ was the singer, he moved so slow and had no energy. I truly believe the long guitar solos were for JJ to recover and not for FS's ego. In Wisconsin there was no guitar solo. Robin is a great singer and ENTERTAINER. I go for the music first and the entertainment second. With JJ I came up short on both ends. With Robin (and keep in mind it was his first show with Survivor) I was thoroughly entertained. It was great. I am not anti JJ, he seems to be a great guy. I just think Robin is the better frontman. I had never heard of Robin McAuley before so please don't think I have an agenda. I just like energy and good music.

No doubt the band needed energy. Clearly they were too complacent with JJ as the frontman.

Just curious. This question is for everyone. Why does having an opinion mean someone has an agenda. I haven't quite figured this one out. I didn't realize we were supposed to be STEPFORD SURVIVOR FANS.

Yes, it is free and if I were single and 25 again sure I would go. But I am now married and have kids. I weighted my options, I could've seen Survivor with RM or John Waite with JW. John Waite is Saturday and Surivivor friday. I have seen Survivor 5 times (counting JJ's Survivor once - 4 times with JJ and 1 time with DB)..never seen John Waite. So I choose JW. I have to admit I have seen setlist for both's recent shows and JW's looks more interesting.

One problem I have is not only that JJ is leaving but JJ leaving compounds it. The current version of Survivor is now the Guitarist and Drummer. I suppose if Survivor had the keyboard player and/or bass player from the past and the singer was new it would not be as big of a problem. Like Foreigner, I will never see them again because Foreigner is just the guitarist.....I hear they are good now, but being married and having kids I gotta pick and chose what I see now.....it aint like I am some college kid anymore with all the time in the world to see all the concerts I want to see. I also, see too much conflict between band members in Survivor....as a fan I just want to see and hear Survivor. Work it out boys.

Hey Rock, Totally understandable! You'll like JW. He's really good live. Saw him in a package deal a few years ago with Styx and Kansas. He opened and didn't play many songs but wanted to hear alot more.

Well, went to John Waite today. Jreat show. He really puts the hits at the beginning and enbd. Glad I went. Friend of mine went to the Survivor Show. Says he wasn't impressed. He said he did not like the new singer. He's not much of a Survivor fan, says he stuck around for half the show. Says Rm was commenting on how lame the audience was....Robin I kid you not said he made farts louder than the audience.....eeks. Wish I could've gone too but concerts two nights in a row is tough.
