It seems extremely obvious that you knew who was singing in the movie. Are you trying to be humorous or sarcastic? Or maybe you just happened to post something about the singer in the movie "Rock Star" on a Journey forum by coincidence a few weeks after the same guy started singing for Journey? Chances of that happening: one in a million. Then you added the little dig:

Aaron wrote:The metal style voice just isn't smooth enough to cover these types of tunes well. They haven't tried doing any Journey yet but I suspect it wouldn't work.

Wow, what a coincidence! Who would have ever come up with the idea of the singer for a fictitious band named 'Steel Dragon' trying to cover a Journey song? Hmmm... maybe someone named Neal Schon? Are you a psychic? Man, you're good dude.

Maybe you could also predict who is going to be Van Halen's next singer? Could it possibly be the singer of the fictitious band 'No Vacancy' that played in the movie 'School Of Rock'? I'm just dying to know.

You still might think Jeff's not the right fit for Journey but I KNOW many people do... including me.

thanks alex! jeff IS smooth... smooth like jif! i especially like coming home... is that really jss? i have to be honest & say i had no idea how multi~talented jss was until i joined myspace & went looking on youtube for videos to add to me space. }:C) that was in march of this year. i LOVE all the queen~stuff... he's an amazing voice & performer. i really feel like i missed out... but it's been a blast playing catch~up! i'll be seeing journey for the 2nd time this august 19th in irvine & i'm bursting with excitement this time around. unlike my first show last summer... didn't care all that much about seeing a journey without sp. i'm so happy i went though because it renewed my love for this band & for sp even though he wasn't there he was in spirit. i grew to really like steve augeri & what he brought to journey. it's too bad generations didn't get any radio play because it really is a good cd. }:C)
anyway... i'm SO... SO... SO happy that jeff is getting this chance. the chance to show the masses how much he rocks! }=C))

Dude,

If you would quit being a dick for a minute and go back and read the posting you'll see I was referring to a local band that has a guy that sings metal quite well but struggles with AOR style music. I never mentioned "Steel Dragon" covering anything Journey. And yes, I just so happened to be watching this show on VH1. I'm sure its the first time this year its been on TV. So according to you, I must be a psychic and that good. So take it for what its worth and quit being a dickhead or fuck off.

iLex,

Thanks a ton for posting the links to some of JSS's stuff. Those are definitely more melodic than the other stuff I've heard from him. The guy is good, no question, but I still say he's not the right singer for Journey IMHO.

Thanks again for posting the links,

Aaron

Hey Wendy,

Coming Home is definitely JSS! It's a Soul SirkUS song... Neal Schon on guitar! Released in 2005. Great song huh!
Wildflower was recorded by a band called Slam, it's a demo-version as their stuff was never officially released... although most of the songs ended up on many of Jeff's later releases. Oh yeah, Lonely Shade Of Blue is from the same demo!
