Um, WHAT country artist ISN'T doing a crossover act these days? Big and Rich? That's pretty rock and roll. If The Eagles came out today, they'd be classified as a COUNTRY band. If you look at any MAJOR country band, they're all taking the Garth Brookes road and acting more like rock acts. I think it's cool and I'm not much of a country fan. Those bands taking that stance have actually kicked that industry in the ass. I think it's cool. Too bad more rock acts would rather look wallow in the whole 'mad at the world' thing than to put on an actual SHOW. I remember when Styx used to get lambasted for making their concerts SHOWS. Today's country acts have picked up the ball from them and are using it to there advantage. People get bored watching people standing their and just playing. Give them something to look at. Hell, even Bon Jovi are trying to cross over to Country.

I didn't hear Natalie bash her audience, so I can't comment to that. If she did, then that wasn't too bright.
I did hear her bash the Pres and you know what, we live in a free country. She has the right.
The rest of her band probably hates her too because it seems to have tarnished their careers.
The comment about "They actually think people care about what they think, etc." Well, obviously people do care what they think or none of this never would've happened. People cared that they bashed bush, people cared that they bashed their audience, etc.
Vedder did the same thing and also took some heat for it.
Ted Nugent singing about pussy... God, what, is he 80? Scary.

I think you are right that this is where they blew it. I don't care enough to agree with them or not, but when Martie Maguire said, "I'd rather have a smaller following of really cool people who get it, who will grow with us as we grow and are fans for life, than people that have us in their five-disc changer with Reba McEntire and Toby Keith. We don't want those kinds of fans. They limit what you can do." I think that pissed a lot of country fans off.

What's his deal? He bashes America for not giving more aid. The US gives more aid to the rest of the World than every country combined. Why he has the ear of W is beyond me. Why doesn't Bono go and talk to the PM of Ireland? Or Blair? Or John Howard of Australia?
Blame America all you want based on policy. Hell, our policy is shit, but don't blame the people of the US. Ok, blame the assholes who re-elected W.-Dumbfucks.

Yes, they are that "sadistic." And yes, we are "really in for a long and awful war." [/b]
