Yep, I'm afraid most of the world is embarrassed by America. It would probably help if you elected an intelligent, worldly, fair-minded, non-jingoistic, leader who didn't appear like some hick out of 'deliverance' with a 'direct line to God'.

As far as ecological destruction, at least we were smart enough to not sign on to that ridiculous Kyoto treaty. They put all the restrictions on the good ol' U.S.A. and let nations like China, India, etc., get off the hook with having to do basically nothing.

The Kyoto Agreement was an excllent idea, and if worked on a bit more, China would have had to play by the rules too. You are correct in that China is the leader in pollution. You know there was a study released last week, that California's cities have pollutants that come from China?

The U.S. Senate was right to vote it down, something like 99-1 or 98-2? The fact of the matter is that the U.S. is already doing more than almost any other country in the world to do something substantive about pollution.
