America is an embarrassment the world over. NO one likes us, no one respects us, we have 3 allies. Shall I continue?

Thank God, we get another Clinton in 2 years.

Let's hope not.

People would hate us regardless of who the President is. No one likes the top dog.

Yep, I'm afraid most of the world is embarrassed by America. It would probably help if you elected an intelligent, worldly, fair-minded, non-jingoistic, leader who didn't appear like some hick out of 'deliverance' with a 'direct line to God'.

We don't hate you (as a peopla), we just think your corrupt leadership is destroying the world (with the help of our 'leaders' - who don't represent the will of the people). We aren't proud of Blair either. :?

Most people here really like Tony Blair, despite his unpopularity there in Great Britain.

Newsflash...It isn't America OR its leaders that are destroying the world. Islamic fascists are solely responsible for that.

That's because he has his tongue so far up Dubyas arse he's licking his trachea.... and you people like the idea of a 'special relationship' because you haven't got any other friends (on a 'world' level NOT personally) left....

Re: destroying the world - I actually meant 'ecologically'. Re: Islamic fascists - they are nutters, but they have been driven (to some extent) by the greed of America & the West. I'm not supporting them, just looking at both sides. After all you can't solve ANYTHING with force alone, Understanding of the deeper causes is needed too....

I love it when people can't discuss the issues without the name-calling. It makes you look small-minded and ignorant.

As far as ecological destruction, at least we were smart enough to not sign on to that ridiculous Kyoto treaty. They put all the restrictions on the good ol' U.S.A. and let nations like China, India, etc., get off the hook with having to do basically nothing.

I figured you'd pull that line. Notice I didn't say YOU were ignorant and small-minded. I said it makes you LOOK ignorant and small-minded. I've been around here long enough now to know better than that.

Technically, you're right, it wasn't name-calling but close enough.

Conversationpc, I can see what you are going to write before you write it. So predictable. The Kyoto Agreement was an excllent idea, and if worked on a bit more, China would have had to play by the rules too. You are correct in that China is the leader in pollution. You know there was a study released last week, that California's cities have pollutants that come from China?

The reason China and India were allowed more pollutants, was that they were considered "emerging nations" or "developing nations," and needed more slack. I do think that's bullshit. However, the Kyoto agreement is an excellent idea.

The U.S. Senate was right to vote it down, something like 99-1 or 98-2? The fact of the matter is that the U.S. is already doing more than almost any other country in the world to do something substantive about pollution.
