Will the JSS-fronted album have a one word title?

Postby The_Noble_Cause » Tue Aug 08, 2006 6:37 am

Will the JSS-fronted album follow the time-honored tradition of Journey albums gone by and feature a one word title (Escape, Infinity, Arrival etc) - OR- has that idea been fully exhausted?

I say yes, it's an inextricable part of what makes Journey "Journey".
Also, it better have a scarab.
This time around hopefully with one that doesn't look like it was made with photoshop.

Getting a little ahead of yourself TNC.

However, the next Journey CD will (should) have a one-word title.

I answered "Who gives a shit...". While not the greatest Journey albums, "Trial By Fire" and "Raised on Radio" both bucked the forumula, for better or worse.

Oh am I, 28?
A fan who claimed to speak with Neal reported that the guys have been writing.
Like much on the web, it could be outright categorical bullshit though!

I don't think it was specified, though, if they were writing Journey tunes or just writing in general, like for some other kind of collaboration.

Bah, you just have it out for me now that you know I don't blindly support King George or his band of illegal-war starting myrmidons.

Doesn't have to be.
The band is writing.
The band is Journey.
Ergo, what they create is Journey music.

But that does not necessarily mean JSS will be singing on it.
And it does not necessarily mean it will end up as Journey material.

(And for the record, JSS himself confirmed the statement)

But Jon has also talked about putting together a new CD. I do not doubt that the guys might write. But given past history, I do not have a lot of faith in a new CD until it actually happens. And until the "official" press announcement, no matter how likely it looks, I do not consider JSS the permanent lead singer in Journey.

My answer had nothing to do with your hatred of Bush. I answered it honestly.

Do you listen to Boortz? He uses "myrmadon" all the time. He is the king of the verbal smackdown

Nope.
But I love Savage!
Even as a liberal, I can't turn him off.

Dude, you have to listen to Boortz. He is an equal opportunity offender to both sides, though he probably does hit the libs a little more than the conservatives (he's a Libertarian).

I occasionally listen to Savage. He can be a bit hypocritical for my tastes sometimes. He lambastes O'Reilly for promoting himself but he constantly mentions how he's had best-selling books, how he has such and such a degree, and how he has predicted this and that event while no one else did. It's sickening sometimes. The guy is extremely intelligent, though, I'll give him that and he's right on much of this war crap.

Oh, he's def. all over the argumentative map.
Cracks me the fuck up.
Him and Rush have on-air talent.
Hannity is dull as dishwater.

Savage can be hilarious sometimes. I only usually get to listen to about the first 40 minutes of his show on the way home and I'm surprised I haven't driven off the road a few times.

You're right on Hannity. He is boring. You turn his show on and you know you're going to hear all problems in the world blamed on liberals (like some on the left do with conservatives). He just repeats everything ad nauseum. Dreadfully boring.

BTW...I don't "have it out" for you. Out of all the boards I've posted on, I only really completely dislike one person I've ever come into contact with. You're not him.

I'm afraid the Sirkus has left town....permanently.
I believe they are writing for "Journey".
Or maybe, like the Chalfant + Journey writing sessions, these songs will just end up stashed in Jeff's sock drawer.

Probably so, but I'm hoping not. It has looked that way for some time but Jeff filing in for Journey could give Neal the SS itch...or assure that there's no chance of revisiting SS again.

Um, yes it does.

Welcome aboard Jeff. Now go out and do , what you do best. Sing, entertain, and rock. Very simple.

Jeff is the new singer, the band is intact, and they actually have a great writing chemistry. New CD next year? I bet my house on it.

I think we should all remember that there was a Journey before one-word titles, and there will be a Journey after one-word titles. In fact, there has ALWAYS been a multi-word titles, from "Look Into the Future" to "In the Beginning" to "Dream After Dream" to ROR and TBF. It's always been there.

So, it really makes absolutely no difference at all. If it doesn't sound much like Journey, it doesn't matter what they call it.

LOL! They can then have a snow-covered scarab on the cover and call it the "Abominal Snow Scarab".

They do?
Their piddling output of 2 & a 1/2 albums over the span of 8 years seems to indicate otherwise.
I think Neal and JSS have synergy (something sorely lacking during the Augeri years).
