Thank you!!
What is so hard to understand? Deen has said no to a lead singing position, his sister has confirmed this- Deen is a drummer, a fantastic drummer with a great voice. JSS is singing. JSS is out front. JSS is lead. JSS saved this tour for Journey. Rock on and enjoy.
Oh wait- are talking about Dean as in Rockin'deano?

But, he doesn't need to

What's so hard for YOU to understand? Thousands of drummers can fill this gig, almost no singers can. He can beat the skins at home if he likes it so much. If he wants Journey to provide good paying jobs for him and everyone else, if he is a team player he will step up and do what it seems only he can.
If he is a true fan, he will accept it, and do it for the team if though he may not want to.

He doesn't need to? Are you high? Have you listened to Deen do this songs? Do you have Generations? Have you heard Jeff do these songs?
I thought we told the truth in this forum. This begins to feel like BT, only here everyone does for Soto what BT does for Augeri.
Lets get real. Other than Perry, nobody can do these songs justice like Deen. His has the magic. And I'm sorry, but Soto doesn't (for Journey) and neither does Chalfant.

So Deen is not a "team player" if he doesn't front the band.
Here's how it is...
1 - The band doesn't want Deen to front the band.
2 - Deen doesn't want to front the band.
3 - Most of the fans don't want Deen to front the band. They want him as their drummer.

Two words: Neil Peart

I already read your previous Peart comments in another thread with disinterest. Sure, he is a great drummer. So is Steve Smith. Do people still lament that he is not in the band? Smith added magic to Journey songs. Dean plays the parts just fine. As good as Deen is on drums, he hasn't been as creative about what he gives the new music in the drums department. Its just drums. Maybe you would go to a concert to listen to somebody beat on the skins for hours, but most don't care about drums that much. If Deen left the band, he would be missed for the vocal touches he has added lately, not the drumming. Plenty could fill his shoes behind the skins. so what

I doubt it would be that easy. Deen has made himself a favorite among the fans because of his personality and sense of humor, not just because of his drumming and vocals. I think he would be sorely missed by the fans.
