I don't get that at all.

I intended that to look like a Journey album with the title SoulSirkus, somewhat joking of course. But I do think that a Journey album with Neal and JSS playing a big part in the writing would lean a bit more toward SS than Journey has to this point. And ever since I heard the energy in on the SS record I've thought Journey could use a good dose of that, though I thought they should have been able to find the motivation without JSS's influence. I could see Close The Door by SS as a Journey/JSS tune. But mostly, though I'd try to keep an open mind, I don't see it sounding like Journey with JSS singing, as much as I like his voice. He's one of the strongest singers I've heard.

If JSS is in the fold for the next album, I would like to hear "dark Journey", like Frontiers-era. Jon could get off his piano and back on his synth, JSS could write some moody lyrics, Neal could wail on some really melodic, angry solos like he did on EOTB, Troubled Child... you listening, guys? 8)

I'd have liked to have heard this W/SA for the last 8 years....think Steve's voice and influences would have suited that direction also.

Kevin Chalfant's Journey-ish Two Fires band already took that one.

Well, now that they have a singer, they could actually tape a show....and call it "Journey does Dallas."

Seriously, catchy as fuck title. So half the BT crowd won't like it...fuck them anyway.

Or they could call it

I thinkt hat one is very simple...

They make a lot more money on tour then they ever would by releasing an album...and Neal has many other creative outlets besides Journey. So, there was simply no reason to do it.

Perhaps you should be asking why Neal felt motivated to seek outside creative outlets?
I believe Neal harbored major misgivings about choosing Augeri.

I hear it will be released sometime when hell freezes over, in a combo pack with the equally elusive Warfield dvd.

Neal has been doing that since Schon & Hammer...which was at the apex of Journey's career. Even during TBF he had outside things going on before and after. It's a normal thing for Neal to do that...

Now, putting as much effort into Soul Sirkus was a different story...but Journey wasn't exactly putting out a lot of releases prior to that either.

I don't need you to lecture me in Journey history, I know all this.
I simply think it was different this time around.
Neal mentioned Augeri's vocal troubles as early as the Main Event tour.
I think Neal saw the writing on the wall and wanted out.

You asked me a question, I gave you an answer. Neal doing outside projects is nothing new...and therefore there is no reason for me to look at as anything other then what it was - outside projects. SS was approached differently though.

No, I didn't.
I told you to be asking yourself "why Neal felt the need to seek outside work in SS".
I didn't legitimately want to hear any of your presumptous flim-flam.
I was simply giving you some food for thought.

If they got back Perry I would go with DESTINY. With Soto I would say VERTICAL. With Augeri I would say FARCE.

If they have Perry back, I'd say, "Titanium".
For JSS, "Overtime"
For Augeri, "Perilous".
