For us Boston fans, Tom's choice to only use Brad Delp on lead vocals on a few of that albums tracks would be like Journey still having Perry in the band and letting Ross sing 7 songs on a Journey album

Yeah, both Boston AND Journey made bad decisions on using multiple lead singers on their last albums. "Generations" isn't the greatest album ever, but it blows "Corporate America" to chunks.

Kimberly Dahme doesn't have a bad voice but, I'm sorry, a female singing on a Boston album just doesn't fit. She did okay on bass, though, when I saw them in the summer 2004.

I picture my wife dancing to this under some Tiki hut on a tropical beach, mini skirt with string bikini top, frozen drink in hand, enjoying life.

To each their own, of course :D .

Yeah well Knox you have a hot wife. I'm sure she could dance to anything for you.

Very appropriate that you used "Corporate America" and "chunks" in the same sentence. Some reports are that Fran Cosmo and his son are OUT of Boston and will not be heard on the next album. That would be great. They should let Brad sing ALL vocals and only use Kimberly for backing vocals in concert. She is kind on the eyes in concert.

Nah...I like Fran Cosmo. Regardless, Fran is the only one between he and Delp who can hit those stratospheric notes in the old stuff. I think they still need him.

It is my absolute favourite, and NO, I am never trading it to anyone, except my new best buddy.....

I was there that day, and as I've said before, I am in the video. My old flame and I are both in it prominently.

That's cool to have something like that you were there for. My brother's the same way about the '81 Houston DVD.
Still looking for a damn show (Rush, Styx, OR Journey from recent years) that was at the Woodlands while I was there.

I like Fran too, and he really helps out live because it's clear Delp's voice is further gone than Perry's. But I don't care for the stuff Fran and his boy contributed on CA. In fact, You Gave Up on Love is about the only song on that album that I actually really like a lot.

Re: Worst Journey song ever?

Big J wrote:Probably a revisited topic I'm sure but these sorts of things tend to be ever-changing.

What is, in your opinion, the worst song Journey has ever put on a record.

Now, some caveats:

- No "anything Augeri" answers. If that's all you have to say, that's lame. Put some thought into it.
- No B-sides...album tracks only.
- No instrumentals. Actual songs. Don't throw out "A Few Coins" or something like that.
- Actual songs you think are BAD...not ones you just hate. I hate Who's Crying Now, but I know it's technically a good song. I just think it's overplayed all to hell and overrated and I'm sick of it.
- I'm staying away from the first three albums for my picks because a lot of them are too obvious. But, if you wanna choose one, go for it.

Gone Crazy! sounds like it took longer to find the pen than to write the song.....utter crap should not have been on the record :?

Now, my answer is:

Daydream. Annoying annoying annoying. Evolution is a great album, but this song sounds like they were short one track for the album and just threw it on there.

I agree with conversationpc, they do need Fran Cosmo at the very least. On a new studio album I would like to hear ONLY Brad Delp on lead vocals. I saw Boston in 2004 like converstaionpc and they really do need Fran to hit the high notes. Delp even said something to the audience thanking Fran for helping him hit the high notes. The Cosmos are great musicians they just shouldn’t sing lead vocals. I would like to see them appear on t he next album.

Neal's Beyond the Thunder and a lot of Late Night are also great 'in the mood' albums!

Foolish Heart...Damn, that's his too.
Open Arms...no, I hate the song but that is because of what it meant to the band.

Open Arms.

Sorry...I don't mind a good ballad, but that one just crosses one step too far over the Cheese Line for me. Even the lamest Journey song can usually by saved (partially) by great drumming or Neal's guitar, but even they couldn't save this song. Let Mariah Carey have it.

Yeh, cuz like any of these didn't:
"With Your Love", "All the Way", "Happy to Give", "If He Should Break Your Heart", "Lifetime of Dreams" "Knowing that You Love Me" ......ad infinitum!

Not quite getting the "Gone Crazy" hate.
Sure, the lead vocals sound like they were done by Joe Camel, but in an album of one-too-many subtle hooks, at least this one features a robust chorus.

Yeah, but none of those was as overplayed. I think "I'll Be Alright Wihtout You" is total crap too, but you don't hear it all that often so it isn't as grating.
