This Band can Now Make a "Comeback."

Postby Rockindeano » Mon Aug 14, 2006 3:21 pm

With a New singer, a singer who can flatout bring it, I will now say this....

Journey CAN make waves now..They have a singer who can sing, has balls, and trust me folks, can make the Journey name proud again. I am sold on this outfit. I am going to war for Journey now.

I have seen the fucking light. I was wrong a month ago. Jeff Fucking Soto can flatout, fucking sing, like I have never heard before with the exception of course of Steve Perry, the best ever, and trust me, they are not far apart........

Jeff is the shit, Neal is the shit, if Friga would stop shaving his balls, could be the shit too.........Of course, Deen is the shit already and Ross, well, who cares about Ross..I can play fucking bass....

I am offering my services....I will get shit done for these fuckers. They made a mistake, fucked up, cleaned up, improved ten fold, and I am here saying, let's rock.

Fuck all you Perry only fans. I love SP, but I am here to say you Perry onlies want Journey to fail..I say, "eat the corn out of my shit." I am a Journey fan..A Real Journey fan, a live Journey fan, and I KNOW this incarnation will do so OJ Simpson on people.........

I love this lineup. THIS lineup is the shit.

I don't know. And define "comeback" because if that means sounding like grunge or one of the other genres that sells records now, I hope they never do come back! I think anything Jeff does with Journey will sound phenomenal. WHy wouldn't it? Jeff is great. Talisman is great. Journey is great. Neal is great.

But I dont want Journey to sound like Talisman or Soul Sirkus, even though I like all of it. I want Journey to sound like Journey because that's what I love and I miss it.

But I damn sure like and respect Jeff and what he is doing.

Journey won't change their style...can't see anything like that happening. Everyone involved knows what classic Journey means and they know fans want someting along those lines.

Yeah I hear ya. Well as great JSS is - and he is a better vocalist than SA. Steve Augeri will be back in my opinion - you wait and see.

Just wait, and we all find out.

I will bet you any amount of money, Vladan,. SA will NOT be back, and if he does, it will not be Journey. You need to hear this, dude.

But how can Jeff do that? He sings with balls and passion, and that's great, but he can't sing the same notes as Perry or Augeri or Deen. On the other hand, I think much of the things I've heard from Jeff lately are better than Journey. Even still...here i stand so patiently... :(

Dude, all I can say is, Jeff can sing better than Augeri ever dreamed, better than Deen, and almost, if not close as a "C Hair" as the great Perry himself.

I know this. Do not question me.

I have a new found respect in Jeff Fucking Scott Soto. I love that guy. I love his passion, his talent, and his conviction.

Yeah I hear this guy is doing the songs actually justice! somthing that rarely happend before JSS. We all have the 2001 DVD, and can you honestly say SA nails those songs the way they are meant to done - I wasn't ever convinced but I did enjoy watching those played even though Perry wasn't in the band - still wasn't great though. I have some JSS music here, and yeah this guy has a powerfull vocal style. Its deep when the song is meant to be deep, and high at the right times - he's more versitile and doesn't go into a vocal shell, stricken by range limitations.

My question is! - why didn't they get JSS in the first place, oh well... better late than never :)

Vladan, before you get your knee pads on and worship Augeri, you NEED to know this...

The Vegas 2001 DVD wasn't live. That's right, it wasn't live. Even back then, Augeri wasn't good enough to sing live.

That entire DVD was recorded in the studio.

You still respect Augeri now? Fuck, I am as good as he is!

What changed your mind, Dean? How is Neal the shit? Why do you think JSS can sing Journey now when you didn't believe it 2 weeks ago?

And if 2001 isnt live, how didn't the band know this? And why do some songs still sound bad on it?

Can jeff do the Augeri wiggle????

Many things unresolved here. I'll check the official site and see what's the deal

Seriously. Wow, now that is fucked up!. Wasn't live? man, thats so bloody 1980's Australian television style of crap. Thats fucked, if you are correct and im sure you checked out all possible factors... then I wonder who is to blame. Damn... well atleast JSS is singing.

I agree that 2001 wasnt live, but for heavens sake, how many really are? You must check out Virginia Beach pro shot gig 1998, which I assure you was totally live, to see that Augeri was putting in a good solid performance, in his early days. It was a cyberspace www affair, and has no dubs whatsoever

As mentioned elsewhere in another thread. Ive put up some clips from the gig on youtube, check em out

The tape thing sucked, all agreed, but its wrong to dis his whole tenure in the band

If you still respect Cain and Shon as musicians, you must believe that they wouldnt have employed a "dud" at that stage, they must have believed he was good enough to do the songs justice. Ok it didnt pan out, Augeri was abused with constant heavy touring, and as a hired hand, would have no say in the touring schedule.

Im still neutral regarding JSS, until I hear some decent recordings, studio or live.

In fact wouldnt it be appropriate if Journey themselves released a clip of JSS with them, to stop all the speculation? They record all there gigs, would it really be so difficult for them to pick out a decent minute or two to appease ther fans

Mmmm , they aint never been savvy have they? so Im not holding my breath.

Yes, please answer this, Dean as your sudden turnaround is putting your integrity at stake here. I know you have taken a real liking to JSS because of his attitude, guts and great personality (as I'm sure have many of us) - is that what has changed your mind about him? Or have you heard some new recordings other than the painful-sounding boots from last month?

I think this is bigger than the cease fire in the middle east, this is THE biggest event of 2006 ....

No, I think we have to get things into perspective here - the biggest event of 2006 is quite clearly Avatar's World Tour. Anything else pales into insignifance in comparison

Now I'd go along with that

Deano, I thought you'd linked up with Toto and left Journey behind, what's going on in that head of yours, an invite backstage and you're becoming a right pussy

There are still some songs that Jeff needs to work on....or bring down to his range...but I'm impressed so far. How can you not be, given the circumstances of how he came into this band at a moment's notice....
