But, that is just MY opinion, so take it for what it's worth.
And no, Perry couldn't dance for squat, but at least he didn't wiggle like a girl onstage - he just dressed like one LOL.

And that is the same trait that JSS has that Steve A never has had - JSS KNOWS how to Command & Control an audience and that is why he would be the perfect fit for Journey in the long run. Unless you were a 30-50 something female acting like a horny teenager, Steve A never really made a connection to the audience, he never just pulled you in. SP did it all the time, girls and boys, old and young. JSS has that same power. His voice, his stage presence, his authority of the stage... If the band gives him the reigns he is gonna carry this band on in grand fashion! I liked Augeri when he took over in 98 but, after remembering what we had and now seeing what we 'could' have... It's time for some new blood and JSS is the man!
strungout wrote:LOL sorry, but being a 30-50 something female, I definately see the (Perry) sound and passion in Deen and the raw, sexy (Perry) energy in JSS.
Barb wrote:JSS is in a much easier situation than Augeri was. JSS is merely replacing a singer. Augeri replaced a legend.

I don't think I meant you in that line... I love going to BT but all the "Love and Prayer" threads and "Dreams of the Red Leather Pants" are starting to make me sick

LOL, I hear ya. And I know you didn't mean me cuz I'm a huge Perry fan. I don't mind Augueri, just never did anything for me.
knox wrote:No... I LOVED the black tails with the jeans and leopard shirt - Perry in that outfit is the equivalent of Superman!
I am talking about the black stretch pants and blouse tied at the stomach. He did look like a girl in that.
However, from what I have heard and observed, he didn't take crap from anybody. Did you see Behind The Music? Perry was wanting to put a butt - kicking on whoever it was that threw the bottle at Neal. He wasn't too worried that the guy was probably bigger than he was.
I would take Perry in a scrap against Augeri anyday - even at his old age.

Mid-80s, morning of the prom, brought that tux rental home and the first thing I did was throw on that coat with some jeans and a t-shirt and proceeded to dnace around the room like a fool w/ Journey blairing outa my stereo!!!
jrnyman28 wrote:The two are very different. Steve invited you in, JSS tells you to get in and shut the damn door!

Watched that fiasco, called the Beacon...Augeri is pounding his chest, trying to fool the audience of his emotional delivery.....Uh, dude, stop already.

Perry didn't bowl anyone over with his masculinity, either.
