Trust me when I say that HOTS could not be more pleased that SA has been demoted. She, along with her contingent of Loons, despise SA. They have called him some nasty names from way back. She has done it at MR...comparing him to Tiny Tim. She also despises Journey going on in any form without her beloved. Anything less is impersonation.

Why, the Loon contingent is likely in a corner crying because JSS has now risen to the forefront.

I agree with you completely, but I do agree with that portion of her statement that I quoted, if Augeri doesn't return for the reason I stated. Furthermore, I believe that any of the Perryhead pro JSS statements have been made with hopes that Journey will fail post SA. I know its always about SP with that bunch.

Now I asked for some clarification on this statement... Could this be the proof EVERYONE needs to see that JSS is staying around a lot longer than most believe???

It's time the guys were honest about the whole thing. That's the issue I have now... keeping people waiting like that. It's not fair. Do they really expect people to sit for the whole tour, whether it continues into December or not, and wonder if Steve will be back? The way it's going it could be 2007 before the official word gets out.

They've gone down in my estimation with the way they've handled this.

A few years ago, on one of the boards, someone was stating that they knew Perry really well and had even "gotten together" with him a few times. I forget the gal's moniker at the moment, but eventually she was totally busted.

DV, there is no way in HECK that you are Perry, or even close enough to him to know anything real about him. If ANY information is going to come down the pipeline, it'll arrive via Lora or Joe, or an OFFICIAL spokesperson from the Perry camp.

For you to expect ANYONE to believe that you have ANY measure of authentic information where Perry is concerned is beyond the scope of reality. Way beyond the scope.

All this crap that we read on here regarding "This will happen" or "It's gonna do this" or "I predict there are some potholes" blah, blah, blah is plain ridiculous.

Maybe all of us are just really too gullible. For God's sake, I jokingly stated a while ago that I have Perry's addresses and SS# and everyone believes that without question! Desperate for Perry info? I'd say so...

I say people should either state what they know - so that it can be verified or not - or shut the heck up!

Opinions are fine and that's what this should all be about. But when people drop these "hints" about the future, which could very well be simple speculation on their part, they shouldn't be presented as FACT unless they are willing to provide evidence of it.

Here's a for instance: I don't think Perry will release any new music. That's my opinion. I base it on everything he's said as well as his actions of the past. It should be obvious to everyone that this is an opinion. Because it's an opinion, I could be wrong about it and he could surprise me. Wonderful! I wouldn't mind being wrong about that at all! Still, my statement is obviously an opinion.

Another for instance: Journey is in for some rough riding ahead of them before the storm clears. What does THAT mean? Crap, I could say that and sound like I'm looking in my crystal ball and chances are, it would be true. There's nothing specific about that statement. It's intent is to do two things:
1) Cause the poster to appear as though they know more than anyone else
2) Make it sound like the poster is part of an in group that the rest of us are left out of. (The ONLY poster on this board that is part of the real in group is JSS and even HE isn't talking or dropping hints about the band's business!)

THEN, when no further information arrives from them, they can hide behind the fact that they are not at liberty to say anything else. BUT, if the road up ahead DOES get rocky for Journey, then they can go "See? I told you so." Whatever...

Okay, I'm going to predict this: <B>The road ahead will be rocky for Journey. Augeri will recover from his "health" problems. Publically, he will be asked to rejoin Journey, but will decline. Jeff will be the man. Journey will forge ahead and produce new music with Soto as the new lead singer. The group will gain new ground, refocus and release music that is very reminscent of classic Journey, while reaching toward new ground. They will do two more tours, then Journey will be done. Jeff will go onto greater heights, with Neal and Deen as part of his new supergroup. They will do songs from Journey, SS and JSS as well as totally new material that they create. During one particular Journey concert, JSS will forget all the words to all the songs and simply begin singing words from SS material and Queen's stuff. People will not notice because Neal will continue to play loudly. Deen will increasingly get more time for drum solos and will also sing more. At some point, he WILL come out behind the drums...and leave the stage at the end of each concert. Journey's next CD will be called "Future" and every song on it will have the word "Heaven" in it. Steve Perry will be asked back to do two songs on that particular CD, but he will decline. At the end of the two-year run, Journey will have one HUGE reunion concert and EVERYONE will come back. I mean EVERYONE, including Herbie.</B>

There. That's my prediction. My crystal ball has gone quiet now, but I predict that it will once again dance with new life and I will see more not only into the Journey's Future, but also into Styx, Boston and Bon Jovi's future.

I thought that, maybe by burying this snippit in another thread, I would not draw interest and hate from the Bt Mods and AugeriHeads that lurk here. Although I don't post much more at BT, I like having that option and apparently (ask Bionic) the BT Mods are locking out folks for things said HERE

Like I've said before, saying ANYTHING that presumes Augeri will not be back is like using the "C" word over at BT and all of those ladies running the site get VERY angry!

Well, he is the one wqho said he had sat in front of Perry recording in the studio within the last 10 months. And he seems to be the one person who Perry will actually sit down and talk to about anything "new" going on. So when Uncle Joe says something about Perry it is pretty solid.

I am one of JSS's biggest fans and I don't feel alienated on BT. I think it is wonderful that he has this opportunity to showcase his talents to a wider audience and I'm pleased that he is getting rave reviews. If it transpires that he becomes the permanent frontman for Journey, I would have no problem with that and I'm sure the vast majority on BT wouldn't either.

However, I'm always conscious of the fact BT is not like a lot of other forums. It is a forum paid for by the band, and as such has a duty to try to maintain and support any official stance taken by the band. At the moment, the official word is that Steve Augeri is recovering from a throat infection and JSS is temporarily filling in, and until the band update that statement the Mods at BT have to comply with it.

Whether you believe that official statement is another matter. But if you have an issue with it, I think it should be directed at the band's management, not at the poor Mods who have a difficult enough job trying to head off flame wars on their own site, without dealing with sarcasm and accusations from a site that has the luxury of not having to comply with management directives.

I can't speak for the Mods on BT (even though I'm married to one of them), but I can say they are not all Augeriheads. Sure, they support SA, as a great singer, a current member of the band and as a really nice person. However, their main support is to the band Journey, in whatever its current lineup is, and at the moment the front page of the official website will tell you that still includes SA.

As great a singer as Soto is, he is not right for this band.
At least give the fans the sound they want until Steve can come back. It will make for a great show.
HUGO is definitely the guy for this, he is doing a Journey tribute band now. Check out his website at journeyshow.com
It would be a story just like the movie Rockstar, guy gets to live out a dream.
