She thinks JSS is UGLY and she doesn’t care for his voice much either (sorry). She really missed Steve, especially on Open Arms. She thought Deen was good, but obviously struggling. She still thinks Neal is an arrogant, egocentric jerk. But she also enjoyed Journey more than Def Leppard.

Seems the one tiny paragraph I gave for my wife is getting more attention than the rest of my review. I guess I should have stuck with K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid)![]()

Even the band members do not like the changes but they did what they could.

He shortened a few. Might have missed a couple of the holds. It was hard to tell with the sound at my position. But I would say that "YES" he can do this job.

You have NO IDEA!!
It seems that DL is just a shadow of their former selves. They need to hang it up.

Now now NIG, DL may not bring it live like they did in '88 but they're last cd of original material "X" beats the hell out of anything Journey has done since '83. For me "X" is a close 2nd to "Hysteria" as their best stuff. All Killer, No Filler on either one. As a big fan of both, Leppard has a lot more in the tank than Journey.

Changes within the band, or the M&G set-up or what exactly?

Eh.... dunno 'bout that. The rockers he was fine, but the others.... didn't work for me. Performance wise he was great, but songs like "Ask the Lonely", "Don't Stop Believin'", & "Wheel in the Sky" (to name a few) just didn't sound right to me.
mnmsjrny wrote:Hey Dave -- I gotta say I agree with pretty much everything you said. (My full review is over at BT.) The sound was better where I was (row 14) and absolutely NO ONE near me seemed to notice that there was someone else singing. Crowd was also on their feet the whole night down in the lower regions.![]()
Absolutely could NOT hear Joe Elliot for about 85% of the show. While I'm familiar with DLs stuff and have seen 'em a few times, it was difficult to identify some of their tunes off the bat 'cause of the sound with their set.
