I have been thinking the same thing! Fun read on the Red rocks show, thanks to J28.....but nothing since. I too thought Deano was talking the Irvine show and an invite to go back stage but he has not responded to requests for info, though he has been on!

I haven't seen any Journey boots with JSS pop up over at Guitars101 lately, and I haven't seen a concert, so I can't help you there ! :D

Frustrating, ain't it? Deano said he still had a few more shows to see and would divulge information in his own good time. Unusually enigmatic for him! His daughter's avatar shows a pic of her with JSS and underneath it thanks him for lunch so they obviously all got together. Even if he wants to keep the meeting confidential, I can't understand why he won't write a review of the show. Unless he still wasn't completely happy with the JSS vocals (he was very firm in his opinion that Jeff wasn't the right singer for journey after hearing the early boots, which were pretty bad I have to admit) but is reluctant to say so because he likes Jeff so much as a person and thinks of him as a friend.

Why else wouldn't he report on the weekend's show? Specially after receiving numerous requests to do so.

Well I'm not baiting for a fight. I'm genuinely interested to hear someone tell me about the recent shows. I was hoping someone here would do it as I dont know if I can trust the "reviews" at the official site. And the media critics are mostly anti-Journey anyway.

The last time a member of this board "reviewed" a show was Red Rocks. That I saw anyway. There have been shows in Utah, Vegas, CA & AZ since then. I'm honestly surprised no one has posted a clip or commented. Surely someone went to 1 of these shows?

Sorry, I don't have anything new to tell you, but I was also at Red Rocks. 6th row right in front of the speakers, so I may have heard a little better that J28. Since you read his review I won't go into the details.

JSS was MUCH IMPROVED since the boots we heard. Tough venue with the altitude, but JSS handled it very well. A few strained notes here and there, but he worked the stage and the crowd was loving it, though mostly DL fans.
The sound overall for Journey could have been louder, the guy next me was having a normal conversation on his cell phone for most of Journey, and as I said we were right in front of the speakers. He didn't even try it during DL.

Also, in the line for the rest room, I was talking to some young girls who were there for Journey and said they preferred Steve A., even though they had never seen Journey live before. And again on the way out, same thing.
I've seen Steve P., Steve A., and now JSS and I thought JSS did a great job and would be fine with him continueing on as the lead singer for Journey.

Different stroked for different folks, I guess.

I was at Chula Vista:

I brought a friend who does not follow the band closely, but had seen Augeri - she hated JSS. Her first comment was, "He doesn't work." Later she remarked, "What is he wearing, jeans and a t-shirt?" I laughed and told her about BT saying the same thing.

It was an extremely Leppard crowd. When Journey was done, the stadium had just finally filled up through general admission. They all seemed to know the hits, but one guy came up to my friend and shouted, "That's not Steve! I was ripped off!" I'm not sure which Steve he meant, probably Perry.

JSS had a lot of trouble singing Escape. Otherwise he was decent, I guess. No Deen, which disappointed me. I was watching Jeff's stage moves/crowd interaction closely and frankly didn't notice much that Augeri hasn't done at some point, so I don't know where the "no stage presence" insults comes from.

All in all, they didn't do much for me. To be fair, part of it may be that we were spoiled last year with some rare songs and this show was all hits save for Dead Or Alive. A bit of a letdown there. I won't be traveling very far to see them from now on, and if I go it will be in the nosebleeds. They're simply not worth it for me anymore. Even if Augeri comes back, they will continue to play 'hits' shows, and if so, I still won't travel far or spend much.

P.S. to Journey: GET RID OF YOUR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER VISUALIZATIONS ONSCREEN. PLEASE, IT'S NOT PROFESSIONAL!

Hi Moon Beam - I thought you were going all the way to California to see them? Couldn't you make it?

Thank u 4 this review. Glad to hear the crowd enjoyed it. Funny about the sound. When I saw them in July they were really really loud & unfortunately the vocals weren't loud enough. It was the bass that was really loud.
