This is by far and away, IMHO, the Journey that Neal has always wanted; a HARD rocking Journey.

Dude, if there was ever a time for you to come to America and watch, it's the Hollywood Bowl show. You be there, and we'll smash liquor back with JSS and Schon. Rape and Pillage LA til it's blue in the face, dude.
Now go book a fuckin airline seat.

I was BLOWN away to see how many 20 and unders there were. Females FAR outnumbered the males, but, nothing wrong with that in my eyes.Furthermore, I have to add to that and say that I was shocked at how many 12-18 year olds were there, WITHOUT parents attached. In talking with my buddy, he says that classic rock is becoming the "in thing" with the teenagers. He says that is all his two teens (one boy, one girl) listen to.
Finally, the quote of the night... We're waiting in the area for DL's after show (again, I was a guest of DL) and this girl and two guys are hanging out. One guy says how he misses Perry and really wished he was still with the band. Well, the female says "No way! Did you see how that guy rocked this place? That guy can sing, dance, and make me horny! He can stick his cock in my mouth anyday!" My buddy and I looked at each other, then we looked at her and the two guys she was with, then we looked at a group of 4 girls who also over heard her comment. Suddenly, everyone just busted a gut! I don't think she meant to say that so loudly, but, she follows it up with "I'm serious!"

I haven't seen the kind of energy at a Journey show like the energy last night since the 80's. DL was pretty damn good, but Journey kicked major ass! The place was packed and on their feet the entire show! This is a good sign!
JSS doesn't sound like Journey? To hell with that! I don't even want to hear that anymore. If JSS sticks around, Journey will be on the top once again! Get into the studio this winter with JSS Journey, and keep this momentum going!

I brought a friend who does not follow the band closely, but had seen Augeri - she hated JSS. Her first comment was, "He doesn't work." Later she remarked, "What is he wearing, jeans and a t-shirt?" I laughed and told her about BT saying the same thing.
It was an extremely Leppard crowd. When Journey was done, the stadium had just finally filled up through general admission. They all seemed to know the hits, but one guy came up to my friend and shouted, "That's not Steve! I was ripped off!" I'm not sure which Steve he meant, probably Perry.
JSS had a lot of trouble singing Escape. Otherwise he was decent, I guess. No Deen, which disappointed me. I was watching Jeff's stage moves/crowd interaction closely and frankly didn't notice much that Augeri hasn't done at some point, so I don't know where the "no stage presence" insults comes from.
All in all, they didn't do much for me. To be fair, part of it may be that we were spoiled last year with some rare songs and this show was all hits save for Dead Or Alive. A bit of a letdown there. I won't be traveling very far to see them from now on, and if I go it will be in the nosebleeds. They're simply not worth it for me anymore. Even if Augeri comes back, they will continue to play 'hits' shows, and if so, I still won't travel far or spend much.
P.S. to Journey: GET RID OF YOUR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER VISUALIZATIONS ONSCREEN. PLEASE, IT'S NOT PROFESSIONAL!

Don't jump on me because I wasn't overjoyed. This is just my opinion.![]()

JSS doesn't sound like Journey? To hell with that! I don't even want to hear that anymore. (why should they sound like the band that sold 65,000,000 records, if it doesn't sound like Journey then drop the name and call it Soul Sirkus) If JSS sticks around, Journey will be on the top once again! (On top of what..the charts..are you serious? If JSS were Jessica Simpson maybe they would sell cds. Not a knock on JSS just a comment on the sad state of music in the US. They will never be anything more than a shed tour act and if anyone including neal or management think soto has anything to do with ticket sales try a tour next summer without leppard andd see what happens

No Deen? At all? So JSS sung Open Arms and Faithfully? How'd those sound?

About the jeans & t-shirt thing. I don't get this. I've seen all the other members of the band in jeans & t-shirts at different times. Augeri wore sleeved shirts w/jeans most of the time. But they're all casual. What do people expect Jeff to wear? A tux? erm this is a rock concert not a classical performance. A suit & tie like he was selling them an insurance policy? A golf shirt and khakis so he'd look like he came down from the IT dept. to fix their computer? I mean come on. This is a rock concert. Performers at rock concerts wear jeans & t's or jeans & shirts. Get a grip people.

Do these people think red leather trousers are fashionable or stylish? I reckon JSS represents a quantum leap forward in the fashion stakes.
