It's NOT a cool way for a band to act. It's NOT a cool way for someone new to be introducted. It's not a cool thing for supposed fans like you to support.

Ok let me play devil's advocate for a second. Let's suppose Dean really knows the scoop (don't argue about Dean or how u feel about him-just take what he has told us as the gospel for 2 minutes then go back to regularly scheduled programming). Just look at this scenario & think about it.

We all know Augeri was having issues at the beginning of the Generations tour. He admitted that himself. So the band says "Steve please step down. Let us hire someone else so we can go on." Augeri doesn't want to step down & threatens to make contractual problems if they try to go on w/out him. Maybe this conversation happened before the Generations tour. Maybe it has been discussed for almost 2 years. Augeri held his ground & went to tape. His voice got worse but he still wouldnt step down. The band is livid w/him. But they want to go on touring. They wont be able to tour forever. Theyre getting old. They need to make hay while the sun shines. They cant just fire him bcoz they made him a partner (whether full or partial). What do they do now?

Bingo. Someone notices the tapes. The story builds & builds. Aha. Augeri has to step down. But the band has to pick up the pieces. In comes JSS-a guy who can sing live & quickly builds rapport w/fans.

Could this be what happened? We'll never know. But it's one way to look at it.

Ok u can return to regularly scheduled programming now.

Absolutely no way in the world this scenario is right...it is the exact opposite.

No singer will voluntarily carry on, or demand to carry on when his voice is fucked..that is just bizarre!! He wants to protect his asset..not destroy it.

The band insisted he carry on, they were about to break Europe..a whole new "trip" for them... it wld have been madness to replace Augeri. who was getting great press in the UK, in rock circles, anyway...Journey will never be mainstream again..unfortunately.
They gambled on "tapegate" to carry them thru.... it failed..they were caught red handed..... Steve is out..... after never having had a full chance to recover from the voice prob, which became chronic during the extended tape run of about 14 months or so. off n on...some nights he felt better...so more of it was live, othernights, more tape ...less live.

Had they seen off the end of the tour undiscovered, Augeri would finally have got his rest.... that he had been promised...but instead, he was hung out to dry, by his phoney, cheating band members.

and it is as simple and straightforward as that, because I know!!

After reading this...I'm kinda curious....how the hell was it "Not cool"? The guy had no voice, under contract, Didn't deliver, find replacement. Seems pretty simple to me.

Pebbles, go get your mop and bucket and clean out Ms Hucklebees bathroom in room 234. She just laid a wet shit all over the place. When you get done, change her linen and then sponge bath her. Do it now, Mop Boy!

And stay off the MR music board. You are defeated ala Napolean.

If that was supposed to be indicative of what you think you can do to "defeat" me, Beano, you're even more delusional than I thought. Weak, man..as weak as it gets.

Let me try yet again to clear this up for you. Cleaning up "wet shits" and linens, and giving sponge baths, is the work of a CNA (look it up if you haven't a clue...I suspect as much). I'm not a CNA.

And after hearing more than a few choice stories about you in Chula Vista last night, from not one, not two, not three, but numerous people who have met you and have direct knowledge of your past reputation, my new nick-name for you is "Beano the Bridge-Burner." Wear it with pride, son.

And you know exactly what I mean. Man...talk about having dirt on someone...BWAHAHA!!! What a loser...truth is, there's no need for anyone to pick on you...you're clearly your own worst enemy.

It is still hard for me to believe that JOURNEY frickin JOURNEY would resort to using tapes at LIVE venues.

How could Neil, Ross, Jonathan etc allow this to happen????? Are they THAT desperate for money????

Ive heard for years here that Steve Perrys voice is shot. Well when you think about it, it really didnt matter. Just fire up some tapes from their heyday, trot Steve P. out there have him lip it. Who the hell would know.

They have RUINED the name.

Someone should sue their asses for leading us to believe we were seeing a live show. I wonder if anybody somewhere got killed or crippled on there way to seeing one of Journey's current 'live'???? shows????? How damn sad would that be????

It really doesnt matter how it happened or what their contracts stated, they mislead their fans. They should all be ashamed, and they are a farce.

In my mind now the band died when Steve Perry walked( or limped) away!!!!!!!!

There is ABSOLUTELY NO way to justify what they did!!!!!

This isnt a one hit wonder or some novelty band. We are talking about Journey. What a damn joke!!!!!!!!!!!

Just curious John, you spoke with numerous people who know Dean and his past? Care to share.... in a PM? I've had my reputation slammed because of my association with Dean and quite frankly the people that have participated in the slamming are hypocrites and full of shit. Aren't we as humans fallible and able to change? Most of us, if not all, have things in our pasts we are not exactly proud of. I'm so tired of people talking shit. At least you have the balls to speak your mind and don't back down when challenged.

If any judge were idiotic enough to not throw the suit out the second he cracked the seal on it, Journey's defense attorney's first manuever would be to petition for dismissal and they'd get it. In record time.

Unless the plaintiffs would have something LEGITIMATE as evidence not soundclips of boots and wild allegations.

If it were wrong then there'd either be REAL, VERIFIABLE proof of it, or tough shit.
If it didn't get thrown out right away, dismissed on first motion by defense, it would be shot full of more holes than Santino Corleone at the causeway hit the second it got to "evidence" discovery.

Oh, also more than likely there would simultaneously be an airtight defamation countersuit sailing through the legal process that would end in summary judgement for Jrny.

Hi, Lula...hope you are well.

Three things:

-For the record, I have no quarrel with you. From the couple of times we've met, you seem like a nice enough gal, and I respect your chosen profession greatly. I truly mean that.

-I appreciate that you recognize me as someone who won't take any shit.

-Based on what I've seen from Deano here, and what I know about the people I spoke with yesterday, I'm totally inclined to believe the veracity of what they told me. Unless of course every single one of them is a liar, and I just don't see that.

Deano should have at least an idea of what I'm talking about. And that's all that matters. No need to hash it out the gory details here, or via PM either.

I feel this is a common misperception.
People think once Perry was removed Neal got "the reins back" and resumed a great degree of control.
However, Neal and Jon never held the reins to begin with; Herbie Herbert did.
And in a similar fashion, their current management now call the shots.
I really don't think Neal has as much power as its made out to seem.

I can honestly say that I conduct myself the same in the real world as I do here in the cyber world.
Just because YOU resort to using an anonymous sn & a web browser to do your dirty work (while actually going about daily life as a cowering, reticent, take-orders, pussy-faggot) does NOT mean we all do the same. Thank you.

I guess we'll see just how much power Neal and Jon have once Deano's Azoff-firing prediction comes to pass. Personnally, I hope they do make a change. Whether you think they are all washed up or not, the RIGHT Management can go a long way in making this band very popular again and Azoff never really seemed to try.

He's done well with others. I'd say that bottom line is he did the best with what he had to work with.
