Great interview Andrew!
I think he's probably one of the best people to talk about the whole SA/JSS situation.
After all, he's been in those shoes before. And he knows the people involved.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, wine and chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "what a ride!"

Yeah, that and the fact that he doesn't really have anything to hide.

Wowsers!

Some gal over at BT is not impressed with me or this site!

For all the news it brings, there is much more negativity, poor reporting and a precedent to treat people worse than even what some people have expressed that this board may do. For all the info too much trouble gets intentionally stirred. I think it does a disservice to Journey and I really wish management would catch up and present the news first.

Damn, and here I was thinking I had been helping the band all these years!

***Remember what you tell us about BT....and not that you care what I have to say but my advice to you is this: a. you are an awesome business man, look at this site! b. you aren't only doing Journey a huge service, but thousands of people that use this site c. you are amazing to have so many high profile people giving you interviews that you ask for! and lastly you need to work out....1 hour a day, even if you have to get up at 4 a.m.....walk fast for 45 mins. and lift weights for 15, you will not be sorry....take care of yourself first!!!!! You are a good man Andrew 8)

So now Sammy and Andrew are the evil ones of the moment?! Too funny. And Sammy's statement of fact is only an "opinon". God those posting at BT are so far down the defensive line that they can't even see how ludicrously blinkered they are being.

I loved the Sammy interview and thought that his comments let everyone know in a nicely left of centre way that Steve A is no longer a part of Journey. But no, he's part of the conspiracy. Quick! Bump the wiggle post!!

Andrew, your interview manner clearly engages people and gets the best answers out of people. Being a good guy does have its rewards!

Andrew, regarding this site, it is the best music site since it was aor.southcom.au , still reading and enjoying it after all those years. Thanks for your priceless work, keep on rockin' and don't care whatever bad words BackTalk has to say regarding this site and your work cause it's not true.
The interview with Hagar is great reading as usual (even though I'm a Roth-head), the outcomes regarding Journey and Van Halen are no surprises to me unfortunately. It is sort of another official confirmation to what I've been reading for months here.
I'm really puzzled, like Sammy, about EVH mental conditions. I don't think he will recover form this state of angry he's living but I hope so, just for him. Van Halen are officially done anyway, this is the last nail in the coffin.
Cheers

It is sour grapes on the poster's part, Andrew. From what I have seen from the short time I have been here, you have reported Journey related items first and way before Journey's own offical site. That speaks volumes to me. The poster should be more upset at Journey's official site for not putting up the news first !

You rock, Andrew. Keep up the good work ! :D

GEEEZZZZ! WHY do some of people act like they've been stabbed in the face w/ a rusty spike everytime someone trys to talk about Jeff or the fact that he is Journey's frontman AT THE PRESENT TIME or possibly FOR GOOD???

Let's face it, other than the current tour (which is going absolutely AMAZING), the biggest topics/concerns/questions on most of our minds are all the Whats/Whens/Whys/Hows and What Ifs and What Might Be's surrounding Steve leaving the tour, his health, Jeff filling in and whether or not Steve will be back or if Jeff is here to stay.

Why can't people talk and, oh my goodness, SPECULATE about things and their thoughts??? Who's it gonna hurt??? Do you think it is gonna hurt ticket sales or the Band's Rep??? That is silly. And now someone like Hagar, of whom none of us (except JSS since he is an active member of this forum at times) has ever earned the right to even have our names whispered in the same breath, gets slammed by these blind morons.

We can't come in here and have meaningful, thoughtful and fun conversations on 'controversial' topics because a lot of folks there (BT) and a few here get so hurt at the slightest whisper of Augeri and THEIR perception of negativity towards him. Ok, you love Augeri and wish him well and want him back... We ALL wish him well, we ALL want to see him get better and sing again; some w/ Journey, some would rather he go on his own. But what is so wrong with talking about all the possibilities this band is facing in the coming months???

Everyone keeps falling back on this bullshit cop-out, "Well this is what the Official Statement Says so drop it".
Guess what, Bush's official statement was that there were WMDs in Iraq... 3 years have gone by, none have been found. Heck, I've BEEN THERE and had been attacked with mortars and 120mm rockets over 200 times in a 5 month period but NEVER had to put on my Chemical Suit...

Official Statements ALWAYS leave room for discussion and speculation...
And I'll take the word of Hagar right now over some shallow, cooperate, politically correct 'Statement' any day.

The really fucked up thing is, all the folks getting upset about some of these 'specualtive' posts are the hardcore Steve Augeri fans and THEY are the ones usually saying the shitty things and doing the mudslinging, aside from Deano of course, but at least he's fun.

Remember, ALL THINGS JOURNEY should be open for discussion (except personal addresses, SSNs and birthmarks of bandmembers and family members, of course).

exactly... BTW on the WMD... the question should be where did they go... we know they were there.. Clinton told us IRAQ had WMD's all those many years ago... AND he always tells or told the TRUTH.... flame me on that one!! HAHA.

well now we have Perry/Augeri and Soto in the Journey family... how many COOL bands can say that!!

Three Words for you.
Downing. Street. Memo.

Enough about politics,
How does Sammy remain in good vocal health when he always has a bottle of tequila being funneled down his throat.
The interview was good, but that is one hard hitting question that needs to be asked.

I dont think he drinks as much as he purports to, for that very reason. I think a lot of it is image. But damn, if the time I saw him last year wasn't one of the absolute best shows (and probably THE most fun) I've ever been to.

Sammy is the coolest. He tells it like it is, gotta like that. Eddie could learn some life lessons from him, if he wasn't so addicted.

:D True. On stage, he gives his drinks to the front row.

Now, Michael Anthony, that's a different story...

Thanks Andrew!!!

Great interview Andrew! Question for ya - you said he was one of 3 interviews. Sammy is one and I am assuming Perry is one, who is the other one? :)

Sebastian Bach? Good luck on that one. Great voice, but you're right - total diva. Hate to admit I'm even from the same country as him. I've seen a couple interviews from him and what a f*cking atittude that guy has!

Haven't seen it yet. It starts next week - Canada's version MMM (Muchmoremusic) of VH1 always runs that stuff a few months to a year after VH1.

As Big J alluded to, it's more of a perception. If you notice, he says a couple of times in the interview (and I've heard him say it many other times)...that he has "a couple of shots". And that is that. What Sammy knows, and a lot of people don't seem to understand, is that you can have a couple of drinks...get a cool buzz...and be good with that. You don't have to get falling down, piss-in-your-pants drunk everytime alcohol touches your lips. It's called moderation.
