Did anyone here ever got up and sing a Journey song?

What did you sing, and how did it go?

At karoke a few years ago this guy decides to sing Faithfully drunk. Kept seeing me cringe and said about a minute 1/2 into the song "You think you can do better then take over"..I did...ended up getting a standing ovation. :-)
He came up later and said "I guess you CAN do better".

Used to sing Any Way You Want It live all the time. One of my old band's favorite cover tunes. I could pretty much nail it, but that was 15 years ago. My range isn't quite that high any longer.

I did. AWYWI, Lights, Good Mornin Girl & Wheel In The Sky. This was a loooooooong time ago. They were the only ones I could manage to sing w/any decency & I'm female but the high notes on any others, ouch. I tried LTS at home once but I sucked so bad I said no way.

LMAO, sure....sing in my car and the shower!

Ya right, I couldn't sing my way out of a paper bag, wish I could. I find the human singing voice (especially if you're really good like Perry) one of the most fascinating instruments. :)

Never heard you sing Nora, do you have a link of something to hear? :)

No, but I've actually gotten up singing a Perry song. For a while, when I was taking professional singing lessons, I was singing "It Can't Be You" during my instruction. That song was constantly on my mind!

Go to CDbaby.com - search TRAG....2 minutes each of our songs from "11th House"

PS ~ at the beginning of the first song, "Minutes Before Midnight", that's MARK singing, NOT ME. I come in on the Chorus.
....just thought I'd clear that up.

It's karoke night again...I'll let y'all know if I do something stupid like trying to sing a Journey song while drinking.

(After about a beer, my voice gets shot from the alcohol and I sound like David Lee Roth. )

Daily I sing of my youth.....Journey included and
Hubby tells me rudely to shut up.
Be it so...he can sing the likes of modern day rap.
Which I DO NOT concider music t'all.
Then I proceed to tell him to suck me to sleep.

Alas I am a happy woman!

Sure, just yesterday in fact, but their stuff is out of my vocal range. Drop it down a bit and I can be passable.

Billy Joel, Alice Cooper, Rainbow, Gin Blossoms - I can do pretty well on that kind of stuff.

Think I'll stray away from Journey tonight. Do something like "Too Much Time On My Hands", "Pour Some Sugar On Me", or "Light My Fire". Little easier on the throat for me. :-)
