Irish guitarist Rory Gallagher, prog-rockers Manfred Mann's Earth Band, and British metal band Uriah Heep. February, 1974 at the San Diego Sports Arena.

Tickets were six bucks. My, how times have changed...

Rainbow...Deeside Ice Rink in the early 80's - shared the bill with Motorhead, followed by REO (Manchester Apollo) and Foreigner(NEC Birmingham). Foreigner should have had NightRanger as the opening act that night but something must have happened and they didn't join the tour  Oh forgot somewhere inbetween I saw DL at Liverpool..on through the night tour!

I can't remember which was first. It was either Day On The Green with The Rolling Stones or Day On The Green with AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, Journey. The year was 1978.

No wonder you are so high on SA and down on Perry.

Dude, you NEVER saw Perry live? Dude is an ass, but fuck was he good.....You could put Neals name to those words too, I would imagine.

Don't care to. Have Captured and GHL and the Houston DVD is better than being there. Yes, they rocked. Top of the world. But not my favorite lineup.
Houston does get better and better and better and better w/ each viewing, though. There is not 1 mistake in that show.

I still have the program. I don't remember much about it. Ironically, my second concert was Sammy Hagar, with Krokus opening.

Saw Scritty Politti at the Cork Tavern. Perfect Way literally brought me and the other patron lurching err leaping to our feet.

The first REAL SOMEBODY I saw was Billy Joel in 1979, 2nd to last row at the Purina Checkerdome in St. Louis.

Nig, Sammy & Krokus were great that tour. Sammy especially. VOA tour wasn't it? Screamin' in the night was "just" out for Krokus... I'll never forget that concert.

I actually liked Glass Tiger on the ROR tour, even if they are Canadian. I was deemed too young by my Ma to see the Escape tour and still for the Frontiers tour, because I was still in high school, because she knew what people did at rock concerts. Well DUH! why do you think I wanted to go?

First JOURNEY concert was in 1998, the Vacation's Over tour in Greensboro NC. Kind of spoiled us, as we tracked down Rindell backstage and convinced him to give us passes, then stood on the side of the stage during sound check. The only downside was Jonathan Cain was a dick to my wife during the meet and greet, but all in all, it was a really cool experience.

That may have been my first "real" rock concert, as I'd seen Tori Amos and Bela Fleck and a few other small acts at the time, but not a big rock and roll show. Steve Perry should have been my first concert, but he cancelled his show in Charleston SC. Shortly after Journey we also saw Prince, so that was a pretty cool one two punch.
