for some reason (other than a fellow human dying ) it made me pretty sad..I guess knowing
he is leaving behind a wife and child is enough , what a shame , but this guy kept pushing it

Such a sad accident
but he lived in the wild zone.
Some die on the freeway
& some doing the things they love

Least he lived his life every minute with zest & zeal
My thoughts & prayer go out to his loved ones & family

Very sad.. heard the news this morn on radio in UK

He sailed "close to the wind" though didnt he? He was very much "in the face" of the wild life he dealt with... so it wasnt outside the bounds of possibility that he was gonna end up this way.

There are several other wild life presenters who have copied his style.... best they take note !! and back off a bit.

My advice: look, observe, but dont touch...

R.I.P. Steve.. you did provide great entertainment, and also made us more socially aware of these animals plights, and natures! :cry:

Very sad for the world. He always said he felt like he was here to protect it - and he loved what he was doing. It was an accident.

Even tho this sad news has made it all over the net, tv and radio, it was announced just a few minutes ago, that his wife is in Tasmania, wilderness hiking, no one has been able to reach her yet with the news.

I think she is aware now...just watching the late news. Certainly no way to contact anyone in the Tassie wilderness

This is the first post I read this a.m. over coffee and I am so sad. He was a darling person with so much passion for life and what a cute family, what a terrible loss. gosh, this is very sad. :cry:

As a reptile guy myself, I feel a little sad as well. The guy didn't know me from Adam, but I loved watching him wrangle those snakes.

You can tell he and Terri had a wonderful relationship, and he sure loved his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Terri and the kids.

I couldn't believe it ...I had a lump in my throat while reading the news.Just terrible.
I loved this man and his shows. What an amazing individual...

I feel really sorry for his wife and kid...Life is so unfair sometimes.
