Simply drive your POS to the Union Pacific tracks later tonight. Go to a rural crossing....wait for a headlight....keep Bryn at home.....when the train gets about a 1/4 mile, abandon said POS, and run towards the train.....the crash will fly away from you....In about 5-10 business days, you will receive a check for the amount of the Ford, er, POS. Take that, and go buy a Chevrolet, or a Nissan or a Honda or a Toyota...anything but a POS Ford.

Trust me, this works. The RR has so much bank, they would rather just cut a check and be done with it.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be listening on my RR radio tonight. The speed limit by your house is 79 for passenger, 60 for freight. The speed is too fast for trains to stop, so you will definitely get hit.

Do it.

My back, arms and shoulders are killing me today from pushing my car home. So I am taking it easy today. I am taking a few days off from worrying about the car. I really don't have anywhere I need to go, and Bryn is taking the school bus to and from school. Once the achyness (sp?) has subsided, I will get my bike washed, tires pumped, etc. Just in case I need it to go to the nearby store.

I hope I’m not late, but here goes. All indications seem to direct to a torn/broke timing belt. Confirm this by having someone crank (start) the engine while you observe the top cam pulley. If there is an access hole (inspection plug) the top cam gear should turn while cranking. If the timing belt has not been replaced in over 70-80 k miles, this may happen. The belt will range from 30-60 $. The labor is 4-6 hours. That is 60-90 $ an hour (do the math). See if there is a local tech school that can do the work for parts only. You may need to leave the vehicle for a while though. Worse case scenario, internal damage from piston hitting valves. This is known as an interference engine. If things don’t revolve at the right time, serious damage may occur.

Thanks for the info cudaclan. Acutally, thanks to all for their input.

I am waiting a few days until I start to look for someone that is mechanically inclined to see if they can figure out that is wrong with it.

And.............. I shouldn't of got out of bed this morning..... Besides the achy arms, shoulders and back.......... I twisted my left ankle today........... Damn it. It is shaping up to be one of those weeks were your patience is really tested..........

One word Sallee;

Vicodin.

Just an awesome drug. Relieves pain, worries and makes you smile. if we air drop that stuff on Iraq, we would be allies next week, and Bush and Saddam would be hanging together throwing shoes on the Ranch.

I got a prescrip filled when I had the dental problems/ rootcanal
but I didn't use it

Id be afraid as I have never taken it
& I don't like taking medicine

Maybe a Benedryl
got a bit of an allergy anyway
think that might relax you

You see....... I was on the way back from Wally World with ice cream.... :D ....... and at the turn lane to my street, my engine stops. I thought........ hey I must of taken my foot off the clutch....... no, I didn't.......... so I try to start it up.......... the engine sounds like it wants to start..... but no, it never catches........ so I push it home......... thank god it was only a 1/2 block to my apartment........ take the ice cream in the house and put it in the freezer...... call the school to tell them to tell my 10 year old to get on the bus.......... then find my trusty ford repair book and try to troubleshoot......... I did loosen the cover to the timing belt.......... timing belt and whatever those thingies are called aren't turning.......... Damn........ what can be wrong with this car?...........

Shit..... ... could this day get any worse? ............. :?
