Actually I've been congratuatory. I think your nitpicking my words and trying to turn them into something that could be construed as belittling to the woman.

What is the cover of the book like and how many pages? Did I miss it somewhere within this thread or would you rather not say?

Ok,ok...Let's get some things straight, shall we?

1.I didn't " compile info from fans and put it in book form".The book has ONE chapter entitled "The Fans".This chapter contains a few concert memories from people who have attended live Journey shows from the Perry era.The rest of the book is about Steve Perry's career.I have gathered all the public info which was available out there from magazines, interviews and documentaries and after I had everyhting,I started writing the book with my own words. It's more like a novel, not just an informative brochure about Steve Perry's career or a compilation of interviews and articles.
Like I said,I am a writer,not a copy-machine.

2.I didn't write this book for money. For God sake's,I have 3 jobs in the mass-media and I earn enough to be very happy.Media is a very well payed domain in my country and I have been working for 16 years in this field.
I invested money in this book. But I didn't care, because it was my "baby".
And yes,I have worked hard on it,taking all that info that was spread all over the place, put it together and find the right way to write it down.I couldn't afford to skip anything,or mess up the timeline of SP's career.
It took one year and a half of my life, but I am not complaining,..I had energy and passion, because I believed in what I was doing.

3.I intend to donate a part of the profit.I am into charity acts in my country.Don't feel like bragging about this.

4.I hope there will be more books about Steve Perry and Journey in the future.Maybe someday they will write their autobiographies,or the *authorized* bios will be published.I can't wait!
I am just a fan who happens to like writing more than anything,so I did what I felt like doing. That's all.

Marabelle,it's ok.Anyone could have done this, you are right.
I am eagerly waiting on your book.

Hey Shania, looking forward to reading your book.

Perry's voice literally changed my life as a teenager. He helped me discover my own voice. I was sliding down a slippery slope of juvenile deliquency when that voice snatched me up out of the trenches. (long story)

Thank you for this.

Steve is an inspiration and his story needs to be told.

Until today Shania I always thought you were American - your English is as good as a native speaker. As a relative newcomer to Steve Perry I feel as though I've really missed out on his career and so I'm absolutely thrilled at the prospect of reading your book. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you've put into it - I'm sure it was a real labour of love.

I also found 2 hustlers, 4 copies of Big Bang, 10 other copies of Generations.

They actually have an entire sector devoted to Generations & Toto. PM me and I will give the Head Trash Man your address!!! I am sure he wont mind sending you copies.

I know it is only a matter of time before I start receiving emails on this, so let me say this now. I have no knowledge of this book or the author. I went to the site and read what is available on the book and noticed I am thanked. I'm not sure why since I had no input on or knowledge of this project. Please do not make any assumptions that Steve Perry has read or even knows about this book. I'm sure the author put alot of time, effort and care into her book and I am not trying to discredit it or her, but I do not want anyone thinking I was involved. Thanks.

Thanks Shania, for doing all that hard work for us...
Lord, knows it is must have really been grueling to dig through all those pages & photo's of Steve!

The internet can really be a wonderful thiing.
How else could anyone sit at a desk in Romania
and get into the minds of all of us around the world with the click of a mouse.
The internet also has a great potential for deception & it's hard to know what or whom to trust
So Kudos to you for getting the best of it.

I read the synopsis
The book appears to be written in a loving light & should be an enjoyable read.

Hi Lora,

I have sent you an email about the book.I could forward it to you,in case you didn't receive it.

I have thanked many people in my book, and I wanted to mention the names of a few who did a great job on bringing news about Steve Perry's activity through various means.Fan Asylum is one of the places that have always kept the things in perspective and you are taking care of the Steve Perry news section up to date there. That's why I thanked you.

Hey Shania, if you self-published, why didn't you use Booksurge, for instance? They are an arm of Amazon.com and your book would be able to be ordered through Barnes & Noble, Borders, etc. Did you get an ISBN code with the company you used? It's included with Booksurge and you need that to get into ANY chain bookstore.

I'm having a book published through Booksurge later this year (full color) and it will be available through all the chains. When you self-publish though, the book is NOT automatically available AT the local stores, but it can be ordered through the store.
