Journey Management Continued

Postby FormerJrnyFan » Tue Sep 12, 2006 11:50 am

In continuing the prospective journey Management ideas and persons, who on this Board would you like to see as Journeys' manager?

Please explain why or why not you would or wouldn't like that person as manager.

This obviously won't happen, but it could be fun.

I vote for Deano. he has the most ideas, the freshest thinking and he has balls.

Is it self-indulgent to edit the topic, add myself into the options and then vote for myself?

I;m sure it was just an oversight

I don't know Andrew. You're way over there in Australia and the band is here. Think it would become a problem? But I'd vote for you anway.

Out of all the candidates, only Andrew has displayed any business know-how or industry acumen.
Then again, there is a big difference between running a website and running a band.

Deano should def be a central fixture of Journey though.
Maybe drive the tour bus and make dick jokes.

I'm disappointed that I'm not on the list. A couple years ago I proclaimed myself the self-appointed JOURNEY manager at BT and got BLASTED.

I developed a website loaded with ideas to boot!

With all due respect, I think Andrew is too passive. I think a lot of you are too conservative. NOTHING at all is good about being conservative. I like the option of Mac and Dean. He can do all the scmoozoozing and I will be out kicking ass for the band. First order of business is to push Azoff into the path of an oncoming train. That would be a good start.

This band has a white hot iron and needs to strike NOW. They need someone to think outside of the box, bring some fresh ideas to them to decide on, and basically, work their ass off for the band.

Fyre, I like your ideas, but you originated from BT and that is just too much to overcome. There is no way you can out think me in terms of ideas and balls moves. You can work in the office though, maybe sweep the floor and clean up the shitter.

Dick jokes, TNC? Fuck you. I beat you in the poll.....

Deano
No offense intended
Please excuse my bluntness
I mean this in a sincere way
& you can argue with it but...

You are wreckless
a train wreck waiting to happen.
You are your worst enemy sometimes
You have a passion and a witty intelligence but
You can't go around alienating or burning bridges

So now you want to tie Pops to the railroad tracks?
Poor Pop's
What did he do to deserve that
I'm sure he'd laugh you off
I also think he would admire your zeal
but I respect him & think he has earned a better end than by the wheels on the 10 ton Deano train

Have you ever heard of the point of diminishing returns
The way I see it Journey is lucky to be where they are esp after losing there infamous voice.
They are touring with tix prices now $75 to $100 av?
What did they get in the good old days...$10. $20?
So if you ask me they are not doing that bad.
Can they do better?
I don;t think so as theyare on the edge of the saturation point
They can;t afford to gamble at this day and age.

the music business is in a terrible state of unrest
Many are looking for ways out of it.
I say stick with company with a good solid 30 plus years behind them.

Anyway good luck to you...next time you see Neal, why don;t you ask him for his thoughts on his mgmt...then you;d really have something to go on...
Get you ideas for the band sketched out and have it on you...who knows....
As for myself
I would not want to that job in this day and age

Pretty soon

Mega soul searing surreal sound experience at the touch of a fingetip...

You were wrong on 79% of your post, however, I am too tired to respond.

Of course I don't want to throw Grandpa into a speeding train.....I would NOT act like this in real life..duh.

You were wrong about some aspects of the music business. Touring is STILL lucrative. Making CD's is a waste of time, however, a band like Journey probably cannot wait to get in there and try out their new car...if you get my drift.

They can make a resurgence, to be sure. To be active, you need to be manged accordingly. Look at Classic Journey with HH...Look at Last 8 yrs with Azoff? See any parallel lines? I sure do.
