It am happy to hear that for all involved.
I just wanted clarification on why JrnyJunky was not able to discuss her ideas for Deano's book.

Thanks Fred, that makes me feel a better about the situation.

I'm free to discuss stories for Deano's book, if he wanted to go that route.

I assumed Shania was joking (she did put a winky at the end). Being a writer and a publisher, she must know that you can't copyright an idea.

Anyway, how did I get mixed up in this? :?

Excuse me for feeling bad on your account!
That's not a wink...that's a laugh & I do not consider it humorous.
That's right an idea is not copyrightable
and perhaps she did know that & to me that makes it all the more offensive.
Maybe she get's some sadistic pleasure out of all of this.
but to me this is no joke.

I am taking a different angle. I am writing a book telling the story...the honest story. not an biased, opiniated one. It will be a tell all, a totally true, larger than life monster. I decided to do this, and rest assured I will now. If I decide to do something, you can bet it will be done in the most grandest style I can envision. I don't want a mild seller, or a timid mover. I want to be the best ever effort I can do.

It won't be some hack thing.

You messed up the quotes again

Perhaps this book will inspire us all including Steve Perry.

Deano, Good for you!
I have been toying with it but I am not a professional writer.

"Open Arms" is playing on Kost
I know its lame station but got to have low key music for the bird...

Good Luck with your book Deano
Bet it will be a nailgripper!

Mine will probably be a novel that I have visions for a movie.
I have had some concepts cooking for about 10 years
Maybe some short stories
A comedy would be nice too

One thing is for sure
I wouldn't write about Steve Perry
not unless he came to me to write his story...

I feel like Steve's
career right now
Sort of in a state of limbo
like one trying to walk in a dream
and my feet won't seem to move...

Anyway, I's surre whatever you write about
it will be passionate with a twist of humor!
as for myself I'll have to get a good proofreader!

Yes, that's the way it is, however it doesn't take much to become one of the "out" crowd either...

I like a good joke as much as anyone & will interject some humor
but most of my posts are expressed with decorum.

The trick is that you MUST develop a thick skin, because in reality, no one talks to each other face to face like people do on a forum. No one. People get pretty brave when they are at their computer keyboard, but get these same people together and it's nothing like this. I've seen it happen over and over again. I used to belong to model-building forums and some of those guys could argue, swear at each other, call each other out and then threaten to clean each other's clocks at the next modeling show (and they were arguing over MODEL BUILDING mind you!). Usually one of two things happened...1) they both showed up at the show and kidded about how brash they were on line, or 2) one of them did NOT show up at the show

This forum is NOT reality. For the most part, at least with some, it's POSING. It's not real life. It's just words on an electronic page. That's it. End of story. :D At the end of the day, it amounts to nothing more than that.

God, I hate all these quotes

Interesting observation
This forum is sensationalism
I understand that

You know what maybe that's my problem
I'm not pretending to be anything for anyone
nevertheless popularity!
I don't run with the crowd
so in or out is really irrelevant

If I can't be accepted for the person I am then I don;t want to waste my time playing in a meaningless charade.
Maybe I shouldn;t have expectations or make judgements upon actions but what else do we have to try to make some sense and sanity
out of a bunch of names and personalities we can't see, hear or touch?

Fred, I still remember that time a certian person quoted your post of PM and though you took down your post
they would not edit there quote of the PM.
There response to you was cold and cruel
I truly was aghast at such heartlessness.

I didn;t know you & I wasn;t sure why you were being ostracized
but you apologized and made restitution
and for me that was enough!

The reason I was (and am still ostracized by many of those same people) was because at one time, I was a Perry ONLY fan. Then, I woke up to the reality that both Journey AND Perry should be allowed to do what they want to do, when they want to do it. Since then, if I say anything that can be construed as "negative" toward Perry, I am labeled a Perry HATER. This, of course does not apply by those same people if I say something negative toward Journey or any of its current members. That's life and I could care less. I'm simply explaining it to you.

Ask me how much I care WHAT is said here, by WHOM and HOW much it gets to me? Go ahead, ask... :D

I hear where you are coming from as it's been pretty much the same story for me..
It took me a while to get over it and to seperate the 2 entities that were for so long the pillars of rock.

Then this book emerges breathing life into the smoldering ashes
& I am just wondering what the implications will be for all the parties involved.
Things have seemed to have been smooth out. Each living in there own harmony.
Journey is touring with a fresh strong voice & Steve Perry has been content to live his life out of the limlight.

Don't want to make too much of a big deal about a book that it's not anything that is not already availavle to the public but the compilation serves to intensify what has been the suject of much heated debate.

For the love of safe ass...

I have never seen money as an issue with this book.
Anyway that's already been addressed
as some proceeds are going to to be donated
in the name of Steve Perry to charity.

Can't wait to see the first check.
So let's wish her success
so she can be on her way
& the book does some good!

As for dreams come true
I've had a few of them
My spirit still soars on the wings
Of moments that play the eternal song
of the breath of a heart beat
Soft & sweet as a whisper

To me those special moments mean more than
being a part of the bright lights and roaring crowd
as they are the things that live in your soul

Everyone should have there dreams
I imagine Steve Perry will take it in stride
as it is just a part of the biz...

It was very easy to order the way she has it set up, she even sends out a thank you! Well done Shania!!!

Ordered the book yesterday from the web site. I went to my local book store and they could not find it on any of their lists, they even tried amazon or any of the popular companies. Should be here in a week or so. Will let you all know how it is. Cannot believe the author is on this message board.-carol

Carol,it takes up to six weeks until new books are picked up by the most popular companies.Usually, all these companies check the new releases once a month or so from a special list they have access to.Then they put it up on their online bookstores.Same with the traditional bookstores.
So it's way too early to find it anywhere else, except on LuluBooks.

Anyway,I hope you enjoy the read. :)

I think it's great that a fan can put together something like this. I'll be buying it. I do think Deano's book will have slightly more scandalous content so I'll buy that too if it appears.
