Today we are going to have a spelling lesson. After reading all of your wonderful posts and reading a recent newspaper review where the reporter wrote "new frontman JAMES Scott Soto", I thought a Journey spelling lesson would be appropriate, especially for all the newbs. I did this over at BT a long time ago (when it was a better place) and it worked wonders for the inept terds over there. I feel that I am seriously wasting multiple brain cells by doing this that could be used for more important things like chewing gum and walking at the same time but this lesson is a requirement. Now, lets begin...

Neal Schon - N-E-A-L, sounds like 'Kneel' and Schon rhymes with 'Ron'

Deen - D-E-E-N "Does anyone really need a rhyme for this one?

Jonathan - usually posted as just 'Jon' - J-O-N; Although 'Friga' is perfectly acceptable nowadays.

Ross - Not even gonna go there... if you can't spell this one, gently unplugged your PC at this time and toss it off the top of a building; you do not deserve to own one.

Jeff Scott Soto - Just type JSS; its very simple and just about everyone else will know who you mean.

And if you must...
Steve Augeri - A-U-G-E-R-I... not 'J'... Yes, a 'G' can sound like a 'J' sometimes, I know it gets confusing.

Thank you for your time today, class. We will be having a quiz on this tomorrow so study hard.
Now I need to do a roll call...

Perry? Perry? Perry?
Just kidding, I couldn't help myself!

I have nicknames for all the guys in the band but I wouldn't refer to any of them by these names on here. Cos while some would find them funny, others would take offence.

Good one though Carlitto.

Okay you asked for it.

Neal = Top Dog (cos he's the boss)
JSS = The Main Man (that nickname originated when his solo band was on the go)
Jon = Big Jonathan (not a derogatory term, just because he's taller than the rest of them - or not as the case may be now that JSS is there)

It's a bit of a thing with the scots. Especially if 2 people in the same family have the same name. Like if a guy's name was Bobby and his dad was Bobby they'd be referred to as "Big Bobby" and "Wee Bobby".

But also if someone's taller/smaller than everyone else around them they're referred to as "Big Jonathan" or "Wee Nancy". It's a scottish thing

Les,

The guys are not as tall as you think. Jon may have a few inches, if that. I think the average height for the guys are about 5'8" tall. When I saw Jon at the m&g, I thought to myself, damn, he is short !

Yeah, JSS is easily the tallest of the guys. He is the same height as I am (he looks taller, though, 'cause he's in much better shape... :D ).

LOL! I thought there was a D-E-A-N in the band, I don't know who he could be other than the "extra" Journey member. Kind of like the 5th Beatle.
