I didn't take that as a dig against Augeri, but rather a way of complimenting JSS. He knows that he can't come and say that Jeff can sing same style as Steve Perry, something that Augeri could do quite competently, so he gives Jeff the best compliment he can. Since Jeff is a young, hard-rock singer...."energy" was the most logical compliment to give.

Not exactly the glowing compliment of JSS I was expecting from Jon based on Deano's insight that Jon is now loving what JSS brings to the band.
