If in fact Augeri is never to return to Journey, there is still good reason for Journey to leave him up on the official site. Have you read some of the postings on that site? Augeri has a large following with most of the women on that site. There are pages and pages of idiotic "we love Augeri" threads over there. My guess is Journey's management is probably smart enough to understand that there is absolutely NOTHING to be gained by making an official (assuming it becomes official) announcement about Augeri's departure, until after their present tour is complete. Remember, there were many Journey fans who purchased tickets for this tour who did so with the assumption that Augeri was the man fronting Journey, so the band had to come up with some statement to appease that segment of their fanbase. It never makes any sense at all to make an announcement that may alienate any of your fans who might be spending money to come and see you in concert. By making the announcement they did, they were able to keep the Augeri fans onboard long enough to listen to JSS and bring in new fans who followed JSS, outside of Journey. It's really a win/win situation for them. Just my two cents.

Last year Steve displayed his versatility by picking up guitar.
Can't JSS stay lead while Augeri stands in the background with tambourine in hand doing the patented BT rump shake?
Just a thought!

Anyone else agree?

At this point, it makes no sense. They've finally gained momentum and are working as a unit with JSS. To throw Augeri back in the mix for a show or two would be like going back to riding with training wheels - you need to restart any chemistry, etc. And after he hasn't sung a lick since June or July to all of a sudden belt out 2 hours? No way.

I could see him being brought out at some show kinda like Chuck Panozzo is for one song or two say in the NYC/NJ area a year or two from now to show that everyone is in love with one another and there's no animosity  Other than that, I would be shocked if JSS walks away and Augeri is back. Hell, I think Mr. Schon would be too! LOL

Steve Augeri will front Journey again. He will be back, but I just hope Steve Perry actually made an appearance first!.... but obviously people are too proud these days.
Just believe it and know it.

I didn't pull it out of ass, either. Look, I just don't sit here and brainstorm. I get out and investigate, make calls and so forth. Andrew does the same thing, but the difference between Andrew and I are that he has to be much more politically correct than I do. He can't come in here and blurt stuff out. I find it funny no one ever publicly asks Mac the same questions I get daily. Trust me, Mac knows his shit. I am glad he doesn't get public questioning...it will only make life harder for him trying to answer in a non biased way.
 I guess I would try to believe it but it is hard when only today on another post you commented about going over to help JSS build a deck and he even posted to say that he doesn't know you from any of us. So I am incline to think that you are pulling this stuff out of your ass and that you really have to ground to stand on. Then again, I could be wrong.....Also, the reasons posted for not removing Steve from the sight or making an official announcement of his departure are totally lame, again, nothing to substantiate what you all are saying. Call me a skeptic but until I have something truly to go on other than your word or others I am incline to think that SA will be back. Help me believe what you are saying!

I really hope you are wrong. The last 2 times ive seen Journey with Augeri fronting them he was terrible... His voice cracked on the first song....and it was people and places......i can sing the backup vocals for that and im a fucking baritone....half way through a song, (cant remember wich) he pointed at deen and walked off stage...just walked off....This guys was good at first, but he's overstayed his welcome....

He really tried to be perry too much...I actually saw him spinning and kicking his leg up over the "mic cord" (even though it was a cordless) like SP used to do all the time, it made me sick..

Now, JSS, that guy does his own thing, but he has always had a passion for Journey, and it shows...

That, plus Andrew has the burden of actually being held to what he reports. He doesn't have the luxury of melodramatically sensationalizing things then morphing the plot to fit the changes every time a contradiction arises to put a hole in his story.
Other than that minor detail absolutely ZERO difference between you and Andrew.
How does Neal and Jon's utter outright contempt of SA reconcile with his being in the soundbooth in Holmdel and then meeting up w/ the band members?
